Hi! My name is Niamh, and I'm a 31-year-old Landscape Architect from New Zealand. I've spent the last six years living in London, and although I love it there, I'm craving an escape from my desk job. With five years of experience in planting design, I am very passionate about creating beautiful planted spaces. However, I've been longing for a deeper connection to the physical work required and the communities benefiting from it.

I'm excited about deepening my connection to plants, furthering my practical skills, and exploring creative gardening. While I'm new to WorkAway, I've heard great things from friends. I'm taking a six-month sabbatical from work to explore whether my profession is truly for me or if there might be a more practical path to pursue.

I am a massive people person and would love to connect with communities developing a life outside the norm. Having always lived in shared environments, I pride myself on being a great housemate and look forward to contributing to a positive communal living experience.

I hold a Republic of Ireland passport, so I can travel and work in Europe.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I've been a Landscape Architect for the last 5 years, specialising in planting design, so I have knowledge of planting design, species selection, and growing conditions.
I help my friend at her allotment regularly, and have doen some volunteer tree planting, so I have som experience planting, maintaining and growing.
I worked as a waitress and bartender for many years, meaning I'm very good at cleaning as I go, food service and prep, and hosting large groups.

I like travelling, I travel most often with my sister. I have a little film camera I like taking pictures on. I commute around London on my bike. I like hiking and walking, spending time with friends, reading and charity shopping.
