Hello dear hosts! My name is Kemal Köse, a passionate and dedicated individual with a strong background in languages, tourism, and social volunteering. I was born in 2001 and originally from Turkey, but my journey has taken me across many countries and experiences that have enriched both my personal and professional life.

I hold a degree in Translation and Interpreting from Near East University, where I proudly graduated at the top of my class. My language skills are one of my strongest assets—I speak English and Spanish fluently, and I also have intermediate command of French. I love communicating with people from all walks of life and find great joy in building bridges between cultures through language.

Currently, I am volunteering in Valencia, Spain as part of a European Union project with Xeración Valencia (ASMISAF), where I support individuals with mental and physical disabilities through inclusive and interactive activities. This role has deepened my empathy and adaptability, and has shown me the beauty of working in social impact environments.

In the past, I have worked as a translator for international conferences, as well as a field interpreter in the aftermath of the earthquake in Turkey with the American NGO Samaritan's Purse—supporting volunteers in highly emotional and critical situations. These experiences taught me how to remain calm under pressure and contribute meaningfully even in crisis contexts.

My professional background also includes extensive work in the hospitality and tourism industry. From luxury resorts in Bodrum to animation teams in large hotel chains in Antalya, I’ve taken on various roles including waiter, bellboy, guest relations, and entertainer. These positions helped me develop strong customer service skills, teamwork spirit, problem-solving abilities, and the energy to engage with people from diverse nationalities.

In 2022, I had my first Workaway experience in Morocco, teaching English and connecting with local students at the British Language Academy. This inspired me to continue seeking meaningful cultural exchanges.

İn 2025, I had my second Workaway experience in a sustainability-focused project in Asturias ( Spain) .
Assisted with light gardening tasks such as cutting and collecting herbs, and supported daily routines related to eco-living and community life.

Beyond my professional skills, I am an open-minded, highly motivated person who is hardworking, respectful, and eager to learn. I am passionate about trekking, dancing, swimming, and staying active, and I enjoy sharing these hobbies with others.

Through Workaway, I aim to connect with hosts who value language exchange, community work, sustainability, and cross-cultural collaboration. I am always ready to lend a helping hand, whether it’s with childcare, hospitality, translation, event organizing, or simply contributing to a creative, warm environment.

Me llamo Kemal Köse, soy una persona apasionada y comprometida, con una sólida formación en idiomas, turismo y voluntariado social. Nací en 2001 y soy originario de Turquía, pero mi camino me ha llevado por muchos países y experiencias que han enriquecido tanto mi vida personal como profesional.

Tengo un título en Traducción e Interpretación por la Universidad del Cercano Oriente (Near East University), donde me gradué con honores como el mejor de mi promoción. Mis habilidades lingüísticas son uno de mis mayores puntos fuertes: hablo inglés y español con fluidez, y tengo un nivel intermedio de francés. Me encanta comunicarme con personas de todos los orígenes y disfruto enormemente construyendo puentes entre culturas a través del lenguaje.

Actualmente, estoy realizando un voluntariado en Valencia, España, como parte de un proyecto de la Unión Europea con Xeración Valencia (ASMISAF), donde apoyo a personas con discapacidades físicas y mentales a través de actividades inclusivas e interactivas. Este rol ha fortalecido mi empatía y adaptabilidad, y me ha mostrado la belleza de trabajar en entornos de impacto social.

Anteriormente, he trabajado como traductor en conferencias internacionales, así como intérprete de campo tras el terremoto en Turquía con la ONG estadounidense Samaritan's Purse, apoyando a voluntarios en situaciones altamente emocionales y críticas. Estas experiencias me enseñaron a mantener la calma bajo presión y a aportar de forma significativa incluso en contextos de crisis.

Mi trayectoria profesional también incluye una amplia experiencia en el sector de hospitalidad y turismo. Desde resorts de lujo en Bodrum hasta equipos de animación en grandes cadenas hoteleras en Antalya, he desempeñado diversos roles como camarero, botones, relaciones públicas y animador. Estos trabajos me ayudaron a desarrollar sólidas habilidades en atención al cliente, trabajo en equipo, resolución de problemas y una gran energía para interactuar con personas de múltiples nacionalidades.

En 2022, tuve mi primera experiencia Workaway en Marruecos, enseñando inglés y conectando con estudiantes locales en la British Language Academy. Esta vivencia me inspiró a seguir buscando intercambios culturales significativos.

En 2025, tuve mi segunda experiencia Workaway en un proyecto enfocado en la sostenibilidad en Asturias ( España) , donde colaboré en tareas ligeras de jardinería como cortar y recolectar hierbas, y apoyé en las rutinas diarias relacionadas con la vida ecológica y comunitaria.

Más allá de mis habilidades profesionales, soy una persona de mente abierta, muy motivada, trabajadora, respetuosa y con muchas ganas de aprender. Me apasiona el senderismo, el baile, la natación y mantenerme activo, y disfruto compartiendo estos hobbies con otras personas.

A través de Workaway, quiero conectar con anfitriones que valoren el intercambio lingüístico, el trabajo comunitario, la sostenibilidad y la colaboración intercultural. Siempre estoy dispuesto a ayudar, ya sea con el cuidado de niños, la hospitalidad, la traducción, la organización de eventos o simplemente aportando a un entorno cálido y creativo.

Absolutely—both! As a passionate language enthusiast and professional translator, I find immense joy in both learning and teaching languages. Over the years, I’ve worked as a conference translator, a field interpreter in humanitarian contexts, and most recently, I taught English during my Workaway experience at the British Language Academy in Morocco. These roles have allowed me to not only share my knowledge but also to connect deeply with people from various cultures. I speak English and Spanish fluently (C2), and I’m continuing to improve my French (currently at B1 level). I believe language is one of the most powerful tools to create understanding, empathy, and opportunity. Whether it’s through structured lessons, casual conversation, or cultural exchange, I love helping others grow in their language skills—and I always stay open to learning new ones myself!

In addition to my experiences in the tourism industry, I have a wide range of skills and interests that I believe would be valuable for Workaway. For instance, I'm fluent in Turkish, English, and Spanish, and have some knowledge of French. This would be a great asset for working with people from various backgrounds and nationalities.

Furthermore, I have a passion for dancing and enjoy learning new styles. I am proficient in salsa and am eager to learn tango, which could be a fun way to connect with others and share cultural experiences.

I also have a talent for cooking and enjoy preparing meals for friends and family. I believe that food is a great way to bring people together and create a sense of community.

Additionally, I am highly skilled in communication and enjoy meeting new people. I am friendly, warm, and have an open-minded attitude towards others. I'm also curious about Asian culture and enjoy reading about different topics. All of these skills and interests would make me a valuable addition to any Workaway project.
