Hey there!

We are Mitch (28M) & Julia (25F), two avid travelers with a lust for life and all things adventure & travel! After spending the last two years together in the UK, we have set off for a year of traveling through South and Central America before restarting our life together in New Zealand in 2027.

We met on a New Years Eve bar crawl in Prague in 2022, while both travelling independently and have not stopped since. This past summer, 2025 we spent 5 months apart working seasonal jobs. Julia has an extensive hospitality and tourism background and spent the summer managing a remote mountain lodge in the Northern Sierras of California. Mitch stepped away from his engineering career to develop his kitchen skills in a coastal seafood restaurant in Cornwall, England. As a couple there is very little we will not try at least once. We love being able to share new experiences with each other and new friends from all around the world!

We find happiness in being outdoors, experiencing new cultures, staying active, & making memories that will last a lifetime, even if they are stressful or uncomfortable in the moment. Julia is looking to improve on her foundational Spanish skills, and Mitch is following suit, learning more and more each day that we spend in Latin America. a

Able to teach English, Math, Sciences & Practical Workshop Skills. Julia has experience teaching English, Math & Arts in Guatemala & Botswana, as well as afterschool daycare in Washington State. Mitch is well versed in the Sciences & Practical Workshop Skills. We are both keen to learn as much Spanish as possible and would love any language exchange opportunities.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Julia
Basic Spanish - I can understand more than I can speak, but I am able to converse on a basic level and am looking to improve my Spanish as much as possible.

Hospitality - Serving, Hosting, Managing, Coffees, Bartending, Kitchen / Cooking, Cleaning. I have done essentially every job possible within the hospitality industry.

Ecotourism & Sustainability - I hold a Bachelors degree from UC Berkeley in the environmental, economic and social impacts of sustainable ecotourism with a vast understanding of sustainability practices and management and am excited to have more real life experiences within the sustainability sector. I managed an Ecotourism lodge in the Okavango Delta working directly with antipoaching projects and sustainability management.

Child minding & teaching - I have 5 siblings, 2 older and 3 younger, as well as a 2 year old niece, I am well versed in child care and have spent time working with afterschool daycares with children ages 5 - 7. I have also taught English, Math and Science in remote areas in Botswana and Guatemala.

Management - Great people skills and efficiency with leading a team.

Plant Knowledge - Basic house plant & gardening knowledge.

Handyness - I have helped with various home improvement projects such as: painting, basic carpentry, gardening & landscaping, redecorating & design, plumbing, leveling buildings. I will happily give any job my best effort!

Mitch
Mechanical Engineer by trade - My background grants me extensive knowledge with building, designing and making things work. I love a project where I can get my hands dirty with & all things tools.

Kitchen & Cooking - Happy to help with any kitchen prep, machine maintenance, cooking and cleaning.

Landscaping & Farm Hand - I grew up on a dairy farm so I know the grind of farming life. I enjoy putting in a hard day's work, doing any odd job needed. Happy to help with gardening, landscaping, property maintenance and anything else you may need.

Project management- My engineering background grants me excellent project management skills, I love to see a project through start to finish.


We pride ourselves on our ability to learn quickly and effectively. We love learning new skills and getting on with any job we are handed. If we haven't done it before, that is an excellent opportunity to learn and neither of us shy away from asking questions when we are unsure.

We love to play cards & board games! We love a good game of Catan, Chess, Backgammon & learning new card games. We've spent countless afternoons in cafes and bars while traveling playing endless rounds of cards, sipping coffee and trying new foods.

Mitch is an avid student of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He enjoys keeping fit and keeping his body mobile. He got into running this summer & enjoys hiking, being in the mountains & trees. Being from New Zealand, I love being surrounded by picturesque nature.

Julia loves to sing, play & listen to music, she actively does yoga & enjoys hiking, swiming & laying in a hammock in the sun. I am a water baby and love being in and around water, while also enjoying the tranqility of the mountains and forrest.

We are the perfect blend of STEM & the Arts and love having deep philosophical conversations and learning about other perspectives and ways of doing and being.
