Description
Hey!!
We are Mikal and Marlin, two Norwegian vagabonds who travel around fulltime. For the past three years, we have lived in our beloved Byssan, our motorhome, and traveled from farm to farm working until we parked it in October 2025 to go on a longer journey with our thumbs as main transport. We both have backgrounds as agronomists in organic farming and have worked with regenerative, organic, and permaculture farming in various ways over the last ten years. We also used to run a farm community in Norway, Sellanrå Gardkollektiv, where we hosted people from all over the world. Here, we lived almost entirely self-sufficient!
Marlin is a warm, kind, and loving person with a big heart for people and nature. She loves to pick up her guitar and sing folk songs from the Nordic countries, and she feels most at home with dirt under her fingernails on a wild and untamed self-sufficient farm. She is an "expert" on edible wild plants, mushrooms, and everything else nature has to offer, and she is used living in simple conditions. To earn a living, she writes freelance articles for magazines about organic farming, mushrooms, and wild plants.
Mikal is a sweet and humble person that loves everything that grow. He is passionate about self-sufficiency, building biodiversity and the free life on the road. He likes to live in small spaces—such as sailboats, campers, motorhomes, cabins, lavvo tents, and so on. He can most often be found on a farm or in the forest, where he works with what he loves most: people and nature. Mikal is also a freelance journalist and writes about all the strange things he encounters along the way.
