Hi, I’m Merle!

I’m 26 years old and from Germany, currently exploring New Zealand on a working holiday visa. I love traveling, meeting new people, and learning new skills along the way.i would describe myself as an easy going person who likes to get into different type of people and living styles to create stories to tell!

I have nearly ten years of experience in hospitality, working in restaurants in Germany. I enjoy working with people, creating a welcoming atmosphere, and staying organized in fast-paced environments.

I’m eager to gain more experience in gardening and general outdoor work. I’m hardworking, adaptable, and happy to lend a hand wherever needed. As well, i love to Cook and would love to cook or share food skills. I stayed in Queenstown, worked as a housekeeper and babysitter for three months, which I really liked and would love to get the opportunity to become a babysitter again.

I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, and discovering new places. I recently completed an English course in Auckland to improve my language skills and gain more confidence in speaking and writing.

I’d love to help out, learn new things, and share great experiences with hosts. Looking forward to meeting you! ☺️

I have nearly ten years of experience in the hospitality industry, working in various roles, including commis de rang, deputy restaurant manager, and restaurant manager. My background has given me strong skills in customer service, organization, and team leadership. I am confident working in fast-paced environments, handling responsibilities efficiently, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations in restaurants.

Through my apprenticeship in the hotel and restaurant industry, I have gained flexibility in various areas, including housekeeping, bartending, technical support, and reception.

Apart from work, I have a passion for the outdoors, especially hiking. I love spending time at the beach and swimming, as being in the water and surrounded by nature helps me recharge. Exploring new places and challenging myself on long hikes has taught me endurance, patience, and problem-solving skills.

In my free time, I enjoy a mix of creative, social, and outdoor activities. Cooking is one of my favorite hobbies—I love trying out new recipes and experimenting with different flavors. I also enjoy playing games, whether it’s a fun round of Uno Flip with friends or gaming on my Nintendo Switch.

Reading is another passion of mine, as I love getting lost in different stories and learning new things. I also enjoy swimming and spending time at the beach, as being in the water helps me relax and recharge. Exploring new places, whether through hiking or traveling, is something that truly excites me—I love discovering hidden spots and experiencing different cultures.

I also appreciate the simple joys of life, like drinking coffee with friends and trying out new restaurants. I enjoy experiencing different cuisines and atmospheres, always on the lookout for great food and unique dining experiences.
