Hello, my name is Mattia, I’m 22 years old and I grew up in the countryside of the Veneto region, in northern Italy. I graduated from university in Italy in November 2025 and, before continuing with a master’s degree or starting an office job, I decided to spend a year abroad. My main goals are to improve my spoken English, discover new places, enrich my cultural background and develop practical, hands-on skills.

In Italy, while studying, I worked for three years as a waiter, an experience that helped me develop strong skills in food preparation, hygiene, cleaning, customer service, teamwork and working long hours with responsibility. I graduated in Economics and Business, but I also have a great passion for modern literature (especially American, French and Irish) and for old movies. I often travel alone and I enjoy walking through historic city centers, visiting museums and art galleries. I like to describe myself as a flâneur, borrowing an expression from Baudelaire, and I enjoy writing.

I have always lived with dogs and my family has a vegetable garden and a small chicken coop, so I'm comfortable living in rural environments and helping with daily outdoor tasks. I consider myself open-minded, adaptable, respectful of rules and genuinely interested in cultural exchange. One day, I would love to settle in Ireland, perhaps working in the cultural sector.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have experience in hospitality and customer service. Though being quite introvert, I've never had problems socialising. Playing football for many years and working as a waiter helped me overcome my child shyness. I enjoy cultural exchange and meaningful conversations, and I am interested in (local) literature, poetry, theatre, cinema, and local history. I'm used to traveling independently and adapting to new contexts. I'm reliable, respectful and open-minded, and I 'd be glad to help with daily tasks while sharing my culture. I hold a B2 certificate in English and I can also offer basic Italian language practice.
