Hi! I’m Matías, from Chile.
I’m slowly travelling around the world with a simple goal: to meet people, see how they really live, give a hand where I can, and share good moments along the way.
I grew up spending my holidays in the south of Chile. My family is in Talca and Puerto Montt, so I’ve spent many years between lakes, forests, rain and long road trips. Because of that, I know a big part of my country and I love sharing stories, recommendations and little details about Chile with anyone who’s curious.
I really enjoy spending time in nature and just being there – sometimes in silence, just listening and watching, and other times sharing the moment with the people around me. Mountains, sea, forests or a quiet park in the city… I feel very at home outdoors.
I’m an easy-going, respectful and curious person. I like listening to stories, learning about local culture and everyday life, and I’m happy to adapt to different ways of living. I value clear communication, kindness and honesty.

I’m a native Spanish speaker from Chile and speak English comfortably. I really enjoy language exchange: helping others with natural Latin American Spanish (including everyday expressions and slang) and improving my English fluency and pronunciation. I prefer real-life conversations, stories and cultural exchange instead of just textbooks. I’m also very interested in learning other languages in the future and I’m happy to pick up the basics of any language my hosts or other volunteers speak.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I wouldn’t call myself an expert in one specific thing, but I’m a very practical person who can help with many different tasks and learns fast. I grew up in the countryside in the south of Chile, surrounded by animals, farms, rain and mud, so I’m very comfortable with outdoor work, getting my hands dirty and adapting to whatever needs to be done.

General skills
Used to farm life: basic animal care, feeding, cleaning spaces, simple farm chores
Comfortable with outdoor work: carrying things, helping in the garden, basic landscaping, firewood, etc.
General house help: cleaning, tidying common areas, making beds, laundry, dishes
Simple cooking and helping in the kitchen
Basic maintenance or manual tasks if you show me once how to do them.

Creative & digital
Basic photography and video (I’m starting to create more audiovisual content while travelling)
Can help take simple photos or videos for social media
Comfortable using phones/computers and learning new apps or tools quickly
Overall, I’m flexible, positive and not afraid of work. If you explain a task, I usually learn it quickly and do my best to be reliable and independent.
