Hello and welcome!

I am Madi a 28yo adventurous spirit who is trying to live life to the fullest. I was born and raised in Ontario, Canada but spent the summer at a remote fly in fishing lodge in the Northwest Territories. I love nature, animals, community, travel and good food and am eager to learn more about homesteading and gardening. While in my first year of University I went on my first solo trip to Thailand and Cambodia and after graduating in 2019 I took myself on a 2 month solo trip to Australia and absolutely fell in love with seeing new places and pushing myself out of my comfort zone. During the pandemic I converted an old minivan and spent the following two summers exploring North America until I eventually ended up in the Yukon. I arrived there in July 2023 and managed to live in my van in the summer months and housesit and care for people's pets full time over the following two winters. It was a wonderful adventure!

In March of 2025 I sold my (very few) possessions, left my job and set off to Peru before ending up at the lodge where I spent the summer.

I speak both English and French and have experience working in restaurants, cafes, house and pet sitting, as well as web coordination and communications. I love meeting new people, laughing and am also a very competent cook -including vegetarian and vegan food. I value simplicity in my life and I enjoy living an active lifestyle connected to nature. Some of my best qualities are that I have a good sense of humour, I'm responsible, self motivated, kind, passionate, and very dedicated to my loved ones and community. In my free time I like to read, spend time with friends and animals, hike, camp, and my absolute favourite thing is walking to a bakery for a coffee and a treat.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

My first job was in a small cafe when I was 15 and I worked in the kitchen and at the front counter for two years. I had multiple serving jobs all throughout my 4 years in university.

I completed an Honours Bachelor of Social Sciences in 2019 and then briefly worked in an elementary school as a teaching assistant. In 2020 I began working as a case worker and program coordinator in a support centre for women fleeing abuse and I remained there for a total of two years. I had a brief contract as a freelance writer while I was on the road and when I arrived in the Yukon I got hired by the territorial government as a Communications Advisor. I have been in this role for a year and a half and it has been a great experience.

I regularly volunteer at the animal shelter and have loads of experience housesitting and petsitting, this includes animals of all ages , needs and temperaments.
