Hi there! I'm Luca – a mountain-loving, animal-caring, music-singing soul from Belgium

I'm a 24-year-old female student-worker with a huge heart for nature, animals, and people. I currently live in Belgium with my little rescue zoo: two cats (Pipoutte & Pookie), three dogs (Boes, Moochie & Shiva) whom are all adopted from the shelter, and my beautiful horse Mavro whom I’ve raised and trained myself. Taking care of them is part of my daily routine and my greatest joy. Whether it’s feeding, walking, cuddling or just spending time outdoors with them – I’m all in.

Nature is truly my happy place. I could spend hours hiking in the mountains, simply taking in the beauty and silence around me. Over the past few years, I’ve been lucky enough to explore some of Europe’s stunning mountain regions – from the Tatra Mountains to the Black Forest, the French Pyrenees, and the breathtaking landscapes of Switzerland.

Since the age of six, horses have been a big part of my life. I have experience in jumping competitions, dressage, and natural horsemanship (including groundwork, neck rope riding, and bareback riding). I also trim my horse’s hooves naturally, so I’m quite hands-on and knowledgeable when it comes to equine care. During weekends or holidays, nothing makes me happier than heading into the mountains with my horse.

Besides that, I’m also passionate about music and creativity. I studied pop/jazz vocals at the Conservatory of Ghent, and now I give singing lessons to both kids and adults. I’m currently studying psychology, and I'm curious about people, cultures, and how we connect.

In my free time, you’ll often find me reading, drawing, painting, singing, or playing piano. I love movement too – horseback riding, long walks, or anything active and outdoorsy.

I’ve been volunteering during summer for 8 years at a Dutch ranch in Texel (not via Workaway), where I work with horses, sheep, ducks, goats, and assist in training foals and young horses using natural horsemanship. I’m also very used to long trail rides through forests and across beaches – pure bliss!

When it comes to helping out, I’m responsible, flexible, proactive and full of energy.
I have experience with:
General animal care (feeding, exercising/walking, grooming, cleaning, medical care,..)
Farm chores (mucking out, painting, gardening,..)
Helping around the house and outdoors
Creative activities (music, art, working with kids,..)

I hold a valid driver’s license.

I'm vegetarian because of my deep love for animals, but I'm totally respectful toward people who enjoy eating meat – like my partner.

I'm very open-minded, kind-hearted, and always up for learning something new.I love learning new things – whether it's a new language, a new culture, a new skill, or simply hearing someone’s story over a cup of tea.

I am happy to help out wherever needed – whether that’s on a farm, with animals, in the mountains, or with creative projects. I'd love to meet new people, make new friendships and work as a team, but I'm just as happy working on my own, being independent and entertaining myself. Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I’ve been riding horses since I was six years old and have experience in natural horsemanship, jumping, dressage, and trail riding. I’ve also been involved in starting young horses and handling foals and general animal care for many years.

Every summer for the past few years, I’ve volunteered at a ranch on Texel, where I helped with daily tasks involving sheep, horses, and goats. This experience has strengthened my skills in working with animals and handling a variety of practical responsibilities.

In addition to my love for animals, I’m musically trained: I sing, play the piano, and currently teach vocal lessons. I'm also a creative person who enjoys painting and drawing in my free time.

I would describe myself as communicative, proactive, and open-minded. I enjoy working independently, but also love connecting with others. I also have some experience in gardening and enjoy working outdoors.
