Hello all! My name is Lindsey. I am 23 years old and I grew up in Chicago with a big family and lots of pets. From my Workaway experiences, I hope to gain new skills, grow more compassionate, and aid communities or families in any way I can.

Last year, I worked as an English Teaching Assistant at a gesamtschule near Luebeck, Germany. I enjoyed my school and Luebeck so much that I will be doing the same thing this year (Sept. 2023 - May 2024)! During my breaks from school, I hope to travel as a workawayer.

I spent three summers working as a sleep-away camp counselor when I was 18, 19, and 22 years old. And I LOVED every second of it. I lived in a cabin and so was very close to nature. I worked as a sailing instructor, teaching wind-theory, parts of the boat, and knot tying. Working with kids was incredible. When I wasn't at sailing, I was either swimming, doing Arts&crafts, petting horses, or directing my cabin's lip-sync routine.


I studied chemical engineering. I plan to have a future career in addressing the climate crises. Clean energy, habitat restoration, plastic alternatives, recycling, and green cities are some of my interests.

I am very eager to perfect my German. My level is around B1.2 - B2

I am shop trained and have an introductory knowledge of hydroponic systems.

Child Care: Worked as a camp counselor for 3 summers with children ages 7-17. I was a sailing instructor, lifeguard, and diving/swimming instructor for children. I have tutoring and babysitting experience.

Experience caring for dogs, cats, and rodents. Little experience caring for and riding horses.
