I’m super excited to introduce myself as a potential Workawayer!

My name is Loeke, I’m 23 years old, and I’m from the Netherlands. I’m really passionate about nature, physical activity, and meeting people from different cultures. I think WorkAway is a great way for me to combine these interests while also contributing to meaningful projects.

This year will be my second time traveling solo. In 2023/2024 I spent over 9 months traveling through Australia, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia, where I also gained some experience working in hospitality. I love working alongside others, learning from them, and sharing experiences. I’m a big believer that a good team spirit is key to getting things done, and I’m always up for creating a positive and supportive environment.

I’ve always felt a strong connection to nature and love being outdoors, whether that’s hiking, exploring new places, or just taking in the beauty of the world around me. Nature helps me recharge and keeps me active and grounded.

I also have a deep affection for animals. Spending time with them, whether it’s caring for them or simply enjoying their company, is something I truly cherish.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

One thing I’m really good at is working with others. I’ve always enjoyed being part of a team, it gives me energy. I like bouncing ideas around, helping each other out, and reaching goals together. I’m also pretty open-minded. I enjoy hearing different points of view and trying out new ways of doing things.

I’ve worked in hospitality for over seven years, doing everything from kitchen help to full-time bar manager. Since I’ve gone off traveling a few times, I often had to come back to new teams or even completely new jobs. I’ve learned a lot from that, especially how to adapt quickly and connect with new people.

Outside of work, I’m super sporty. I love playing football, going for a run, or hitting the gym. Staying active is a big part of who I am—it keeps me sharp, happy, and full of energy
