Actuellement, nous sommes

Description

We are Ida and Lina from Germany and are looking for potential stays abroad in Canada or in the USA from the beginning of 2025.
Both of us have planned to spend about three months in Canada or in the USA, but are quite flexible.
We both love animals and grew up with horses as well as other animals.
Ida lives on a large farm in Germany with over 100 cattle and her own horses, as well as dogs and cats, and therefore has experience of day to day farm work and agricultural machinery.
Lina's family owns a Haflinger breeding farm which has been in existence for over 50 years.
This has given her experience in handling foals and young horses, including training them to be ridden and teaching them the basics.
We both ride English, but still have a great interest in western riding and horsemanship.
We would prefer to spend our workaway on a large farm, so we can do typical farm work, as well as work with horses and learn more about horsemanship.
We are not afraid of hard work and are happy to lend a hand where help is needed.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We both have knowledge of handling horses and other animals.
Furthermore, we have enough stamina and patience to take care of the daily farm chores.
When dealing with the animals we are very calm and pay attention to fair treatment.
We both have a driver's license and are not afraid to drive ourselves.
Through our own animals we have experience in feeding, milking, haymaking etc.
Working with horses, especially young horses, makes up a large part of our work.
In general we are passionated about physical work and farming chores.
We would also like to help at shows or with the care of the animals.
We also have no problem cooking for the family or doing other household chores, including looking after children.

We both have siblings and have grown up in a big family and enjoy a harmonic, friendly and happy living together.
We prefer to spend our free time outdoors in nature.

The two of us would like to continue working with horses in the future. We also love to travel and get to know new things and people.

At the time of the workaway we are 18 and 19 years old.
