Hej!

Jag är Lia och jag bor i Tyskland. :) I study Bioinformatics and now I’m looking for an opportunity to gain new experiences while improving language skills, especiallyin Swedish. I already have some asic knowledge in Swedish, but I really would like to learn more, also about swedish culture.
In my free time, I enjoy a lot of creative hobbies such as singing, sewing, reading, cooking, crocheting and playing piano. I also love spending time in nature, whether it’s walking, hiking or swimming.
I’m passionate about gardening and discovered my love for growing vegetables.

I often tutor children on a voluntary basis. Children can be really funny. :) With my cooking skills and experience with children, I can help with household tasks or babysitting, though I’m open to any other kind of work that needs to be done.

I already passed 3 months in France via Workaway! I was in two families with wonderful kids and passed 3 weeks with a couple to maintain the garden. It was a great time. Therefore, I can't wait to jump into the next adventure and discover the world! :)

Hélène and Julien took me in at very short notice as I had problems with my planned host, and I am very grateful for that! I stayed with them for 3 weeks and got to know their lovely family. Their two children are funny, sweet and creative, so … read more you can only grow fond of them. Hélène and Julien always took care of my well-being and shared the French culture with me (for example goat cheese with cherry jam :) ). Together we visited local markets, castles and used the time to chat. As my stay was during the school holidays, Hélène and Julien gave me the opportunity to go on holiday with them. The cycling holiday on the Loire became the highlight of my stay. :) In addition to the shared activities, I was also able to visit the area on my own, such as Toulouse, Albi, Foix and the surrounding towns. The landscape is fantastic with the Pyrenees, highly recommended! My household chores were few and consisted of cooking, playing with the children and practising English with them and some gardening. It felt more like a cultural exchange. The family grew close to my heart and I missed them after I left. If someone were to ask me: Yes, I would do it again at any time and I look forward to seeing you again in the future!

FR: Bref résumé - Le séjour chez Hélène et Julien a été incroyable et je le recommanderais à tout le monde.
Hélène et Julien m'ont accueillie au pied levé car j'avais des problèmes avec l'hôte que j'avais prévu, et je leurs en suis très reconnaissante ! J'ai séjourné chez eux pendant 3 semaines et j'ai appris à connaître leur adorable famille. Leurs deux enfants sont drôles, gentils et créatifs, et on ne peut que s'attacher à eux. Hélène et Julien ont toujours veillé à mon bien-être et ont partagé la culture française avec moi (par exemple le fromage de chèvre avec de la confiture de cerises :) ). Ensemble, nous avons visité les marchés locaux, les châteaux et profité du temps pour discuter. Comme mon séjour se déroulait pendant les vacances scolaires, Hélène et Julien m'ont donné l'opportunité de partir en vacances avec eux. Les vacances à vélo sur la Loire ont été le point culminant de mon séjour :) En plus des activités communes, j'ai pu visiter la région par moi-même, comme Toulouse, Albi, Foix et les villes environnantes. Le paysage est fantastique avec les Pyrénées, fortement recommandé ! Mes tâches ménagères étaient peu nombreuses et consistaient à cuisiner, à jouer avec les enfants et à pratiquer l'anglais avec eux, ainsi qu'à jardiner. J'ai eu l'impression de participer à un échange culturel. La famille s'est rapprochée de mon cœur et m'a manqué après mon départ. Si quelqu'un me posait la question : Oui, je le referais à tout moment et je me réjouis de vous revoir à l'avenir ! :)
