Hello 🫶🏼,
my name is Lena, I am 20 years old and I come from Cologne, Germany.

Through Workaway, I would love to take the opportunity to get to know new countries, cultures and people, to gain many new impressions and experiences, and to improve my English skills.

During several summers, I have worked as a camp counselor at a riding stable, where riding holidays for children and teenagers were offered. My tasks included leading trail rides in small groups, giving riding lessons to younger guests, cleaning the yard, and taking care of both children and horses. Because of this, I have absolutely no problem getting my hands dirty, I am used to physical work, and I truly enjoy life and work on a farm. I especially like new tasks, working with animals and spending time outdoors.

At first, I may seem a bit quiet, but after a short time of getting used to a new environment, I become a very open, energetic, friendly and easy-going person who enjoys having fun. I integrate well into groups, am uncomplicated, and work carefully, reliably and responsibly.

In my free time, I like to stay active. I spend a lot of time at the stable and currently have two riding shares, I enjoy jogging and going for walks, and I also like reading. I am a very social and family-oriented person and really enjoy game nights and spending time together. Therefore, especially during longer stays, I would be very happy to be welcomed as part of the family.

I have had a driver’s license since 2023 and enjoy driving; at home I drive a manual car. I also have experience working with animals and children, have no allergies, and am generally very easy-going.

German is my native language. Understanding and reading English is not a problem for me. However, as I have not used the language regularly in everyday life so far, I still lack the routine and experience to speak it completely fluently. Since I really enjoy the English language and would like to become very confident in it, I am highly motivated to gain this routine and continuously improve my English.

I am really looking forward to meeting new people, collecting many new impressions, and becoming part of everyday life in a different place🫶🏼

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have experience working with children and animals, especially horses. I worked several summers at a riding stable, helping with riding holidays for children and teenagers. My tasks included supervising children, leading trail rides, giving basic riding lessons, and caring for the horses and stable area.

I am used to physical outdoor work and have no problem getting my hands dirty. I work reliably and responsibly and can work both independently and as part of a team. I am open to learning new tasks and helping with daily routines.

I have a driver’s license, am comfortable driving a manual car, speak German fluently, and have good English skills, although I am still gaining confidence and routine in everyday conversations.
