Description
Hi, my name is Leah!
I am 21 years old and I will study Social Work next year. However, before that I want to take some time off to travel again :)
Last year I already did work and travel for the first time and I truly loved it! I went to Tenerife, Corse and to the French Pyrenées where I worked in a hostel, in a buddhist meditation center and helped an elderly women and her daughter with some chores and reorganizing the household.
In my free time I like to spend time with animals, especially horses. Although I haven't ridden for a few years, I took care of horses and theirs foals several times a week for half a year. I also took part in ground work and horsemanship courses and would like to extend my skills in that field. But I also have experience of working in the cultural sector because I worked at the reception of a German music academy for quiet some time.
Apart from that, I enjoy reading, painting, handicrafts and photography. I also like to deal with social issues such as equal rights or other sociological/philosophical questions. I grew up in a household with different forms of faith and with an immigrant background because my father was born in Chile. This has made me a very open-minded person and has led to me also being very open and interested in different people and ways of life.
I'm very much looking forward to my Workaway experience and meeting new people :)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
Besides my love for animals and my knack for interacting with other people I'm quiet practically inclined and like to build things and I would be very interested in learning more about crafting. At the beginning of 2025 I started to take part in courses for ground work with horses and I plan to further develop my skills in handling and training horses, also as part of my workaway trips.

I left Julie's home around 6 weeks ago and I truly had the best time there.
