Hi, I’m Lisa from China.
I’ve had some wonderful experiences traveling as a volunteer, and they’ve changed the way I see travel and life. I enjoy stepping into different communities, helping out, learning from people, and experiencing different ways of living.
I love nature, outdoor activities and meaningful cultural exchange. I’d like to continue traveling this way — contributing, learning, and experiencing life beyond being a tourist.

I speak three varieties of Chinese and have strong spoken English skills. I’ve always been fascinated by languages and the way they connect people. I’ve taught English at a primary school in northern Thailand and also had experience teaching English in Japan. As a non-native English speaker myself, I understand what it feels like to learn and communicate in another language. I believe language doesn’t have to be perfect — what matters is having the courage to communicate and the opportunity to understand each other. I enjoy helping people become more confident in communicating while learning from their language, culture and way of thinking in return.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I’ve been running my own online business for many years, which allows me to work remotely and gives me the flexibility to travel and live in different places.

I have extensive experience traveling independently and have also participated in volunteer projects abroad. These experiences have taught me to be adaptable, responsible, open-minded and comfortable in new environments.

I grew up in the countryside and have always felt a strong connection with nature. I love outdoor activities, challenging myself and learning through hands-on experiences. I believe we should not only enjoy what nature gives us, but also respect it, care for it and give something back.

I’m practical, willing to learn, and happy to contribute my time and energy. I believe that meaningful experiences come from participation — you get out what you put in.

At 21, I started my own online clothing business, which eventually gave me the freedom to work remotely and travel.

After a turning point in my personal life, I began traveling independently and discovered the world of volunteer travel. Living and working with local people brought me happiness, new perspectives and deeper questions about what makes life meaningful.

I realized that I truly enjoy this way of living — learning through experience, connecting with different cultures and contributing along the way.

I hope to continue exploring the world through Workaway, while getting to know both the world and myself a little better.
