Hello! I’m Kristina—an adventurous soul . Three years ago, I crossed the Atlantic Ocean on a sailing boat, and that journey turned my world upside down. Since then, I haven’t stopped exploring, sailing all the way to French Polynesia, where I’ve had the privilege of discovering countless islands. I now find myself in Tahiti, excited to stay a little longer and explore life on land.

🌍 What Drives Me
I enjoy living in communities and love being the kind of person who brings warmth and positivity to any group. My biggest responsibility the last few years was to keep everyone happy on board with providing yummy meals and take care of the logistics for all the ocean crossings we did. This eventually became also part of my profession where I now hope to further specialize myself as a chef on sailing yachts.

I’m very passionate about outdoor activities such as kitesurfing, hiking, (acro)yoga, snorkeling, and capturing moments through photography and videography. Life at sea has taught me resilience, adaptability, and how to thrive in close-knit environments. During this time, I also became fluent in French, thanks to my mostly French-speaking crew.

🌱 What I’m Looking For
Workaway around Tahiti, preferably in any gardening or artistic project. After years of life on the water, I’m eager to get my hands into the soil and experience something completely different—working with the land, learning new skills, and contributing wherever I can.

👩‍🌾 Previous Workaway Experiences
• March 2022 until Sep 2022 - International Surf School in Fuerteventura (host for guests, organizing surf classes and housekeeping)
• October 2022 - Permaculture tribe and nature life in Serta, Portugal (artistic projects making decorative murals in the interior and exterior, taking care of veggie garden )

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

- My first workaway was being in Fuerteventura for 4 months at a surfhouse where I managed the house, organized the surf classes and took care of the guests relations.
- My language skills have always been a great asset in life. I am able to speak Dutch, English, French, Spanish and Russian fluently.
- I got a tourism bachelor degree and a lot of experience in the hospitality industry since I've worked in different hotels as a front desk receptionist. In my student years I also enjoyed working at restaurants and bars.
- My last experience went through in Dubai. I lived there for 7 months and worked at the World Expo 2020 as a host for the Belgian Pavilion.
- In my freetime I practise yoga or pilates on a daily basis, have a strong passion for drawing and painting, starting with pottery and ceramics.
