Hi, my name is Konomi and I’m from Japan.
Right now, I am in Tanzania, exploring not just the country, but also myself.

I am a curious, proactive, and emotionally sensitive person. I love understanding people deeply — their culture, daily life, values, and especially how children grow up in different environments. For me, traveling is not about sightseeing. It is about connection.

A few years ago in Cebu, Philippines, I spent time playing with children in a slum community. We didn’t always share the same language, but we shared laughter, games, and eye contact. That experience changed something inside me. I realized how much I love being around children — their honesty, creativity, and pure energy. Since then, I have wanted to spend more time supporting and learning from them.

Now that I am in Tanzania, I want to experience local life more deeply and connect with families and children here. I want to listen, help, play, cook, and share stories. I believe that small daily moments create the most meaningful cultural exchange.

I love cooking (especially Japanese food!), taking photos, and creating warm spaces. I am responsible and active — I don’t wait to be told what to do. My English is not perfect, but I communicate with sincerity and confidence. I believe that kindness and effort are stronger than grammar.

At this stage of my life, I want to expand my values, step outside my comfort zone, and grow through real human connections. Workaway is not just a way to travel for me — it is a way to live and learn with people.

I would be very happy to become part of your daily life, even for a short time.

I am very interested in language exchange. I would love to improve my English through daily conversation, and I am also happy to teach Japanese language and culture in a fun and simple way. I believe language is not only about words, but about understanding different ways of thinking and living. I enjoy learning through real communication and shared experiences.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I truly enjoy spending time with children, especially up to around 12 years old. Although I do not have formal childcare experience, I have experience interacting with children in community settings. In Cebu, Philippines, I spent time playing and communicating with children in a local community, which helped me learn how to connect with them through patience, creativity, and positive energy.

I can help with:
• Playing games and creative activities
• Drawing and art
• Simple dance or movement activities
• Basic homework support
• Teaching simple Japanese language and culture

I am patient, attentive, and emotionally sensitive to children’s feelings. I try to create a safe and warm atmosphere where children feel comfortable.

I also enjoy cooking and would be happy to prepare meals. I can help with household tasks such as cleaning and organizing.

My English is basic, but I communicate with sincerity and confidence. I believe kindness, body language, and effort are stronger than perfect grammar. I am always willing to learn and improve.
