I am looking to contribute to projects that involve nature, creative play and ecological community building!

Description

I have always loved nature, animals and making deep connections with people. It is at times when I am able to combine these three aspects that I feel at my happiest.

My childhood was spent mostly outdoors and in the stables. A love of nature and animals has been inside me since I was young, but there was always a feeling of disconnection with that very nature in the Netherlands. Every piece of nature we have has been planned to be that way and you can buy every piece of vegetable that you could want in one of the nearby supermarkets. Knowing where all that food comes from and what it takes to grow however is not something I have grown up learning about. I dream about living in harmony with nature, and I believe to be able to do that I need to learn how to sustain myself while making the least amount of negative impact on the planet. This is where my interest for permaculture, and sustainable agriculture originates from. I am hoping to develop knowledge and skills in farming/gardening and in the meantime improve in displaying the beauty and abundance this planet and the people on it have to offer through the lens of a camera.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We share a passion for gardening, animals and self sufficiency along with experience working on related projects. Jason grew up off the grid in a small fishing town in Mexico and now follows a study in Environmental Sciences (especially focused on permaculture, bio-construction, and waste water treatment), during his internship he spent 6 months designing and building an aquaponics system to provide a family owned eco villa with fresh fish and veg using mostly recycled materials. Kim grew up in a house filled with animals and spent 9 months working with horses and cows on a secluded farm in New Zealand. She is currently following a study in Marketing of Social Business where the focus lies on shifting the business narrative from profit based to a more holistic approach where costs are not externalized onto people and planet. Right now she is also developing her interest in taking pictures and videos of significant moments, and loves to make people see the beauty of themselves, their surroundings and their actions. Both of us are avid climbers, cyclists and general outdoor enthusiasts, Kim is an experienced equestrian, Jason is a fine cook and bartender.
