Hello, merhaba and salve :),
I am Katharina from Germany and I would like to get to know the real life in other countries and cultures! I have lived in Germany for most of my life so far and am curious about new, enriching experiences, encounters and opportunities. I am also interested in learning new things - for example regional cuisine, making food such as cheese, yogurt, bread, oil and all kinds of herbal products. I love animals and taking care of them and I know how to work with plants. I have an eye for detail and beauty, so if something like this can be useful... ;)
I've recently started learning some Turkish because I've loved Turkish music for some time, have a few Turkish contacts/friends and a great interest in the country and culture. My love for Italy is even older, and I'm much further along with the language (I can understand at an intermediate level, but can speak less). I would love to make progress in both languages (also in english, because -to be honest- I rarely had to use it since I left school)! It would be wonderful to find suitable hosts, of course I am also very happy to help you learn German or learn something about German culture :).

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
Professionally, I have a lot to do with (organic) seeds and know a few about ornamental plants, herbs and vegetables (and plant diseases). Privately, I take part in a long-term herb/wild herb seminar and particularly enjoy making something beautiful or useful from existing natural resources.
I generally enjoy doing decorative things such as labelling signs, painting objects and arranging food in an attractive way,...
I have also gained some experience as a waiter and kitchen assistant.
I love looking after animals. Dogs, cats and small animals have always been part of our family and I also love larger animals :).
As a schoolgirl and later during term holidays I have lived with Italian families for short periods of time, e.g. as part of language courses in the country or programmes to promote cultural exchange.
What makes me special is my sense of humour, honesty, the joy of small things and my laughter. I am rather a quiet person who sometimes needs time for myself, can easily be alone but also becomes very lively in the right company :).
