Hellou,

my name is Karen. I was raised in a small town in southern germany and after completing my carpentry apprenticeship in July of 2025, I would love to work abroad for more experience and a broader world view.

I would describe myself as an open and sociable person who also enjoys calm moments and is not easily stressed. I’m creative, practical and enjoy working with my hands. People often see me as reliable, patient and easy to get along with, and I appreciate a respectful and friendly atmosphere.

I am particularly interested in travelling to Scandinavian countries to experience the local work culture, craftsmanship and way of life, as well as the strong connection to nature. I value respectful interaction, community and learning through practical experience.

In my free time, I enjoy creative handcrafts, photography, reading and spending time outdoors. I am also part of a local theatre club and in clubs maintaining german traditions.

I’m looking forward to meeting new people, learning new skills and contributing my experience and motivation to a shared project.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I completed my three year apprenticeship as a carpenter and have three and a half years of professional experience in furniture making and working with machines (including hand tools, small hand machinery and CNCs). I enjoy practical work and problem-solving, and I’m used to working both independently and as part of a team, as well as leading on people when it comes to skills I am comfotable with. In addition to woodworking, I have experience with sewing, knitting and repairing textiles, as well as general DIY and maintenance tasks.

I also feel very comfortable around animals, especially horses, dogs and cats. I have been riding since I was five years old and am very familiar with daily horse care and handling, as well as mucking out stables and feeding tasks. I enjoy cooking and baking as well and like contributing in everyday household life.

From 2021 to 2022 I did one year of voluntary work in a local forest kindergarten, which not only gave me valuable experience in working with children, but navigating and working in a forest as well, als well als cooking over an open fire, or making a fire in the first place :)

In 2023, I completed a one-month internship at a carpentry workshop in Ireland, which was my first experience working abroad. It gave me valuable insight into a different work culture and confirmed my interest in combining travel with hands-on learning.
