I am a Canadian in her 30s looking to learn new skills and see more of the world. Right now I speak English and have been learning (very basic) Spanish independently

I love having variety in my daily life - currently, I work as an artist and researcher. Research is a great job but I would like to spend some time working outside and being more active, so if you are a host that needs some help in the garden or around the house would be a good fit.

I'm somewhat handy with tools and am a fast learner. I enjoy gardening, DIY projects, crafting, cooking, biking, and reading. I'll be spending some of my spare time doing my research work and art but hope to explore and spend time outdoors when possible!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a variety of creative, practical, and professional skills that I have picked up over the years. I like trying new things and people always say I'm a quick learner - so even if I'm not an expert yet I might still be able to help out with your project.

I have always loved arts and crafts and have been working as a watercolour painter for several years. I've also explored oil painting, pottery, sewing, cooking, baking, and other crafts. I would love to try sculpture or mosaic work.

I'm pretty handy around the house and yard. I can handle basic maintenance and upkeep like putting up shelves, fixing gadgets, yard work, painting walls, etc. I've done bigger projects like building a deck with my dad, and I keep a garden every year with my neighbour.

My work as a researcher means I get to meet lots of people and learn directly from others - my favourite projects are the ones where I get to interview people from all over Canada. Besides doing interviews and surveys, it involves lots of writing, organizing, project management, and sometimes social media.

I'm hoping to use my spare time during a Workaway to explore the area and to do art, but some of my other hobbies include watching movies, reading, and seeing concerts or live music. I have a cat and would love to stay somewhere with animals because I know I will miss her when I'm away.
