Hi, I’m Ka Ching from Hong Kong.

After working for almost a decade in the parks and trails field, I decided to take time off to travel slowly through Central and South America. I’m not here to tick off countries, but to learn from the land, the people, and the quiet moments in between.

I enjoy observing small things—how people greet each other, how food is prepared, the way animals move. I find happiness in writing, taking photos, and sharing space with kind people (and animals too). I’m not the loudest person in the room, but I care deeply and try to be present in whatever I do.

I’m currently learning Spanish while traveling through Latin America. I love how learning a language opens up new ways to connect with people and understand their stories and daily life. I’m still a beginner, but I try to practice whenever I can! I studied Chinese language and literature at university, and I’m happy to share Cantonese or Mandarin with anyone who’s interested. I’ve helped friends with both before, especially in conversational practice. I’m also happy to help with English, whether it’s conversation, writing or just casual practice. I enjoy language as a way to build bridges—not just to translate words.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I worked in parks and trails management for nearly 10 years in Hong Kong, mostly in communication-related roles. This included writing, editing, planning public materials, coordinating with different stakeholders, and helping connect people with nature through clear, thoughtful communication.

I'm comfortable with both independent and team work, and I value clarity, empathy, and listening—skills that help whether you're writing something, hosting a workshop, or helping out in the kitchen.

I also enjoy photography and writing as personal practices. I like documenting small things and quiet moments. I'm currently learning Spanish during my travels, and always happy to help with basic writing, visual content, or anything people might need support with.

I love exploring new places and seeing how people live, cook, speak, and grow things in different parts of the world. I’m always curious—about landscapes, markets, languages, and small daily details that reflect something deeper.

Nature is a big part of what I enjoy. I like observing birds, insects and plants, especially in the early morning or while walking slowly. I often take photos or write notes to remember the feeling of a place.

I’m not a big talker in groups, but I’m warm and easy to live with. I enjoy relaxed, genuine company—sharing a meal, a quiet walk, or even joining a game if everyone’s having fun. I’m happy doing things on my own, but also open to connection when it feels natural.
