Hey 👋
I'm Josh, 27, from Ireland.

I'm currently travelling around the globe, I feel like I've been doing so for years haha, but now I'm in Asia and learning about the amazing cultures, cuisine and sights that are here, meeting amazing people and experiencing the most of life that comes.

I'm very enthusiastic person. I am a professional chef and a professional dive master. I have big plans in the future to give back to the planet with marine conservation, but for now, on a mission to explore and make my way across the globe.

I'm not sure what is going to come along the way, but I know all the experience I acquire from workaways and other skills in life I've learned or been taught are all going to add to finalized route of my life.

I have experience in tourism and hospitality for years upon years. not only is workaway a platform to help me travel, I really love making and having friends dotted around the globe, I actually strive for it.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I feel like over the last many years of my life so far I have developed loads of skills throughout my life experience.

Growing up in a large family, my parents being artistic and working in scouts and also having a woodcraft business led me to have a broad range of skills just By observing and being in an environment that was so creative. This gave me an ethic to be hands on and I am willing to head deep into dealing with any project.

Culinary skills and working in tourism has given me a broad range of skills.
Communicating with customers/guests
High quality standards
Food waste management and control
Sustainability
Allergen and dietary cooking
Knife skills
Keeping clean and hygienic

Dive master training has given me a wide range of skills aswell:
Amazing water confidence and skills
First aid training
Navigation skills
Mapping projects
Helping ease guests and project them into a new environment

Being artistic and creative has led me to carry on courses that interest me such as ceramics, but I love all forms of art like painting etc.

I’m an environmentalist aswell and will spend my times beachcombing and caring for the environment. When I was diving it shocked me about the plastic that would be found in the ocean and washed ashore and this led me to sort through the plastics and be able to melt some into ocean plastic recycled rings- however the project never took off but I reckon I have removed over 100+kg of ocean plastic in my own time
