I will be traveling to Letterfrack, Clifden, and Inishbofin, Ireland in April and May of 2025. I am interested in permaculture farming and gardening, animal care, and cultural exchange.
Description
Sunrise on a cloudy, sunny, rainy, foggy, windy, chilly, warm, crisp, or clear day makes me smile! The view from a mountain, a beach, a river, or a desert gathers me for the day's adventure. I enjoy feeding and caring for cats, goats, horses, chickens, and some people. Listening to audiobooks including historical fiction, social science, mystery, women's fiction, thriller, fiction, fantasy, and romance keeps me focused. If I'm walking or working in a beautiful setting, I'm at peace. And if there happens to be lightening bugs, now there's pure joy!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
As a live-in at a 20 stall horse stable on 16 acres, I am tasked with a variety of jobs including mucking stalls, making feed for 20 horses (40 feeders), maintaining the paddocks and pastures, and the fences and run-ins. I drive a tractor, a riding lawn mower, and a 4x4. I have expertise with both a zero turn mower and a standard riding mower. I can run a walk behind mule (BCS 720-732) and a push mower. I also manage a very small non-profit farm that uses permaculture design principles. I am a journeyman beekeeper with 2-10 hives depending on how bad the winter was. I can extract and bottle honey. I am a retired special education teacher and school administrator with experience working with students with behavioral and cognitive challenges. I have written over 55 successful grants and would be interested in helping write a grant for my host or their community. I also raised four children, 2 boys and 2 girls.
