Description

Hello there, I’m an active person who likes being outdoors, visiting new places, and making friends along the way. Hard working, reliable, honest, energetic, enterprising, tidy, conscientious and organised. I like keeping busy and don’t sit still. I am passionate about wildlife, nature conservation, and the environment. When at home I volunteer for a local wildlife charity helping restore heathland by clearing scrub, also do weekly checks on a small herd of Belted Galloway cattle, and feed a cat while its owner is away. I like hiking, especially mountains, sailing, and travelling with others to new places. I recently worked on a project in Southern Africa clearing invasive plants.
I live Surrey, England, but also lived near Durban, South Africa as a child. In the European winter I try to travel to warmer places, where I can make a difference. I am a non smoker, no drugs, but I do enjoy the occasional beer at the end of a hard week!

I stayed nearly a month. I was made to feel welcome and was fortunate as power had just been restored from a neighbour when I arrived. I enjoy being outdoors so appreciated the chance to work alongside local people from the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) clearing invasive pom-pom weeds along the river, and learned some Zulu too. I was there 3 weeks. Feeding cat Dobby and dog Capu. I washed their bowls and fed them at 7:45am, and cleaned cat tray. The cat is so friendly and playful, I will miss her very much. Capu enjoyed his afternoon walks before evening feed at 5pm.

Jenny was just awesome, she was so helpful, polite, and so pet lover, Dubby and Capu were so please with Jenny so we. She did a lot of duties, roos sealing painting, a door and always she was so proactive, gave us a lot of ideas and plans. We wish she can come back some day but most likely we wish her the best!!!!

During the week I was at Chaos Oasis I helped prepare for the imminent arrival of important visitors. With Alisa, two other WorkAwayers, and a group re-roofing a bungalow, we became a team.
