Hey hey, I’m Jelka, 18 years old, and I’d love to go travelling for a while after finishing school. Part of my family is originally from Norway, so I’ve had a connection to the country since I was a child and have spent holidays there. Unfortunately, I’ve never learnt Norwegian or been able to stay there for a longer time. I’d like to make up for that next year and not only get to know different parts of Norway, but also learn a bit more about the language and culture.
I love the nature in Norway and going for hikes or walks and hope to be able to do this now and then during my time as a Workawayer. Generally, I like being outdoors or helping my family in the garden. Otherwise, I play the guitar and discovered knitting for myself a while ago. When I can be creative, I usually come up with a new project. Ideally I hope to meet other people along the way with whom I can share my hobbies, so we can learn from one another. But I also don't mind beeing on my own and try something new without other people.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I really enjoy being outdoors and can help out in the garden/farm. A while ago, I volunteered for a few months at a children’s farm, looking after the animals there, for example. So I’d love to work with animals again or help out where possible, and learn more about them. Otherwise, I’m very keen to do all sorts of jobs, if I can help and someone simply tells me what to do, I pick up new tasks quickly. I enjoy working in a team, but I’m also happy to work on my own. Unfortunately, I haven’t had much work experience so far, but I’m keen to learn new things.
