Description
We’re a small family that runs a B&B. We are located in Puerto Rio Tranquilo, in the middle of the Carretera Austral in the south of Chile. We speak german, english, and spanish.
We’re looking for volunteers to take care of the house, the garden and the greenhouse as well as creative projects. There are also occasional small woodworking projects or painting tasks to be done. Depending on your professions or talents, we’ll definitely find a task here that you’ll enjoy.

We, the family are Sandra & Thomas and Mateo (15) plus our dog Schulz and chickens
You will help us a maximum of 5 hours per day, 5 days a week. And we will try to give you work according to your interests and skills
You can learn about self-sufficiency and how to make things work with what you have, even when resources are limited. We try to build, repair, grow, preserve and create things ourselves rather than simply buying everything we need -
Aide
For the current season 2026/27 (Sept.-Apr) we are looking for an outgoing, positive-minded and proactive person to help around the garden, the house and help in creative projects.
There are also occasional small woodworking projects or painting tasks to be done. We have also the garden and the greenhouse where you will find always some tasks to do. Depending on your professions or talents, we’ll definitely find a task here that you’ll enjoy.
The help entails doing pretty much everything from all a bit.
So far, all volunteers have felt right at home here ;-)
Patagonia has to offer, and meet cool travellers from all over the world!
Minimum stay should be 1 weeks.
It´s helpful if you:
- are open-minded and enjoy helping in whatever
- enjoy cooking and baking for the family
- have creative ideas and work with difrent materials
- enjoy gardening work
- simple carpentry and DIY projects
- painting and light maintenance
- gardening and landscaping -

Hébergement
We offer a doble room with 2 beds , could be sharing with another volunteer o for you alone, free board , laundry and a warm atmosphere

In your free time, you can explore the stunning area along part of the Carretera Austral. We live on the second largest lake in South America.
Arrival would be via the airport in Balmaceda and then by bus heading south, or—if coming from Argentina—by bus via Chile Chico -

I spent just over a week working at their hostel, and it was a good experience.
The work is varied and engaging, from preparing breakfast to cleaning sheets and making fresh bread for guests.
