Hello! I'm Jason, a 24-year-old electrical engineering graduate from Belgium.

I would describe myself as a shy but curious, open-minded, and reliable person who enjoys meeting new people and experiencing different ways of life. While I'm not an extreme adventurer, I love discovering new places, stepping outside my comfort zone, and learning from new experiences.

I grew up in the German-speaking part of Belgium, a small and unique region where different cultures and languages meet. Living in a multilingual country has taught me to appreciate different perspectives and ways of life from an early age. The area where I grew up is surrounded by nature, forests, and small villages, which is probably one of the reasons why I enjoy spending time outdoors and feel comfortable in quieter, more rural environments.

My Christian faith is an important part of my life and influences how I try to treat others. One of the values that matters most to me is showing kindness, respect, and compassion to every person, regardless of their background, beliefs, lifestyle, or identity. I believe that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and understanding.

One of the main reasons I am interested in Workaway is the opportunity to experience daily life from a local perspective. For me, travelling is not only about visiting new places but also about building genuine connections, sharing experiences, and learning how people live in different regions and cultures. I enjoy family life, conversations around the dinner table, and becoming part of a community, even if only for a short time.

Through my studies and work experience in electrical engineering, I have developed a practical mindset, problem-solving skills, and a strong sense of responsibility. I am comfortable with technical tasks, maintenance work, DIY projects, and general hands-on activities, but I am equally happy helping with everyday household tasks or anything else that needs to be done.

In my free time, I enjoy being physically active. I played badminton for several years during my childhood and still enjoy sports today. In general, I tend to learn ball sports quite quickly and enjoy the challenge of improving and competing in a friendly way. I also enjoy spending time in nature with my Dog and exploring new places.

Although I am new to Workaway, I am excited to start this adventure, contribute where I can, and learn from the people and places I encounter along the way.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a background in electrical engineering, which gives me practical and technical skills in maintenance, repairs, and DIY work. I enjoy working with my hands and solving problems in a structured way.

I am also flexible and happy to help with everyday tasks such as cleaning, gardening, or general household support. I learn quickly and adapt easily to new environments and tasks.

In addition, I enjoy sports and working with people, and I am happy to spend time playing games or activities with family or children. My mother worked as a childminder, so I grew up spending a lot of time around children and naturally gained experience in interacting with and looking after them.
