Description

We are a couple of Aussies that have decided to take a year off work to travel around Europe. We are fascinated to learn about different aspects of European cultures including food, history, traditions and language.

We usually spend our week days as working professionals. Hannah has been a primary school teacher for 6 years. Teaching has been a very rewarding profession and I enjoy getting to know each student and seeing their growth throughout the year. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, working out or going for jogs, going to the beach and spending time with our dog Bailey and my friends.

Brendan works as a water conveyance engineer for the state water utility company. He enjoys the problem solving that comes with the challenges of his role. In his spare time he likes to stay active by running and rock climbing.

On the weekends you'll usually find us hanging out with friends, walking our dog at the park/beach, hiking and trying out new restaurants.

When we travel, we always make an effort to learn as much of the local language as we can—it’s a great way to connect with others and embrace new cultures. We are both fluent in English and would love to help others improve their English skills.Hannah has professional experience teaching children with English as an additional language in the classroom. We’re excited to share our language and learn from others along the way!

About Us
We’re Brendan and Hannah, a friendly and enthusiastic couple who love staying active and exploring new opportunities to learn, help, and grow.

Brendan’s Skills and Experience
I hold a Master’s in Civil Engineering and work as a water conveyance engineer for the Western Australian water utility company. I enjoy problem-solving and getting hands-on with practical tasks, from fixing clogged sinks to painting our home. I’m always eager to learn new skills, whether from others or through a quick YouTube tutorial. Outside of work, I’m passionate about music—I play bass in a cover band and also enjoy playing guitar and drums. I love staying active through outdoor adventures and sports, such as rock climbing or squash, or tackling DIY projects using my 3D printer.

Hannah’s Skills and Experience
I have a Bachelor’s in Primary Education and work as a primary school teacher. My career has equipped me with excellent communication, organisation, and adaptability skills, which I apply to many areas of life. I also have experience working on an animal farm, caring for animals like goats, sheep, cows, horses, ducks, and chickens. I love being outdoors, staying active, and bringing my patience and enthusiasm to everything I do, whether it’s working with animals, children, or people in general.

Our Shared Skills and Lifestyle
We’re a highly active couple who enjoy balancing work and life with hobbies and outdoor activities. We’ve both worked in retail and hospitality in the past, which has strengthened our people skills and work ethic. Together, we’ve tackled home improvement projects, including painting and maintenance, and we love learning from each other and the people we meet.

We thrive in dynamic environments, whether it’s physical tasks, creative challenges, or simply sharing positive energy. We’re eager to connect with hosts, contribute our skills, and embrace new adventures!

We’re both animal lovers and have a Cavoodle named Bailey, who brings so much joy to our lives.

In our downtime, we enjoy playing board and card games like Catan, Chameleon, and Kingdomino. Brendan loves diving into strategy games, with Civilization being a personal favourite. We’re also big fans of hiking and exploring the great outdoors, which keeps us active and connected to nature.

Hannah is an avid reader who enjoys mystery, fantasy, and contemporary fiction novels. She also has a creative side and likes experimenting with art, dabbling in watercolor and acrylic painting as a beginner.

We’re always open to trying new hobbies!
