I travel to learn. I have spent the last 18 years of my life in formal education and have decided I have finally earned a break and it was time to learn some useful stuff! I was smart enough to do my first solo travel trip last year in East Africa, and it was by far the most extreme experience of my life. While, it only lasted 2 months, it truly did give me a new lease on life and the possibilities of experience. I volunteered teaching cricket and english throughout city and rural Rwanda for 3 weeks, lived with other full time teachers and had the best time ever.

I now plan to travel the America's for as long as I can with the money I have saved up. Of course I will be indulging in the usual touristy activities on offer but feel if I really want to learn from and meet the real people that make the America's the America's I would have to work and volunteer, which has brought me to this site.

I love nature, hiking, different cultures, teaching, learning, and seeing how people interact with the land in a sustainable way.

I really want to learn Spanish, as I plan to work and travel throughout all the countries that speak it. Also would like to have a go at Portuguese if I find a work-away there that I would like to stay at for a while.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have had a history of teaching/coaching sport as I have played a lot of sport myself. Through this, I believe I have become quite an effective communicator, whether that be with children or adults.

I have worked numerous jobs ranging from butcher, labourer, forklift driver so I would like to think I am very malleable and eager to help and learn. I am not scared of long hours and most of the jobs Ill be applying for through workaway, will hardly be considered jobs anyway.

I can only speak english, however will be making it my mission to speak spanish before my trip concludes.

I love to read. I love to hike and just generally be in nature. I also love a beer and a good conversation with people I enjoy with the sun setting and a nice dinner being made. I like to think I am quite a simple man, who enjoys the simple pleasures.
