Description
Hello! My name is Gerard and I'm from Mexico. I'm an International Business student with a passion for traveling, cultural exchange and meeting people from different backgrounds. I joined Workaway because I believe the best way to truly experience a country is by living with locals, contributing to meaningful projects and learning from everyday life.
I'm a responsible, respectful and open-minded person who enjoys working as part of a team and is always eager to learn new skills. I love spending time outdoors, whether it's hiking, exploring nature or discovering new places and cultures.
One of my biggest passions is fermentation and traditional craftsmanship. I enjoy brewing craft beer and mead, and I'm especially interested in learning about vineyards, wineries, sustainable farming, gardening, animal care and rural life. I'm always excited to get involved in hands-on projects and experience different ways of living.
In my free time, I create YouTube videos about history, culture, travel and lifestyle. I also enjoy photography, video editing and learning languages. I'd be happy to help practice Spanish while improving my English through everyday conversations.
Whether it's helping around the house, working in the garden, taking care of animals, cooking or supporting any daily tasks, I'm always ready to contribute with enthusiasm and a positive attitude. I truly appreciate cultural exchange and hope to create meaningful connections, learn from my hosts and leave every place a little better than I found it. -

My Skills & Experience
I enjoy learning new things and adapting to different environments, and I always try to contribute wherever I can. Over the years I've developed a mix of practical, creative and business-related skills that I would be happy to share with my hosts.
I have extensive experience with fermentation, especially mead and other fermented products, so I'd be glad to help with food projects, beverage production or anything related to fermentation.
I'm currently studying International Business, which has given me knowledge in economics, finance, business administration and marketing. I also have experience in sales and enjoy helping with business ideas, customer service and small projects.
I'm comfortable using technology and digital tools, including Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Lightroom. I also create and edit videos and photography, manage social media, and enjoy producing creative content.
Languages are one of my biggest passions. I speak Spanish and English fluently, have an intermediate level of German and French, and I'm currently learning Italian and Japanese. I love cultural exchange and meeting people from different backgrounds.
I also have a solid understanding of mathematics, enjoy hiking and trekking, have some experience with gardening, and I'm always happy to help with everyday tasks around the house or property.
Above all, I believe my greatest strength is my curiosity. I genuinely enjoy learning new skills, sharing what I know, working as part of a team, and embracing new experiences. I'm open-minded, reliable, and excited to contribute while learning from every host I meet.
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through sports such as swimming, squash, cycling and table tennis. I also enjoy playing chess, exploring nature through hiking, and spending time outdoors. I believe these activities have helped me develop discipline, patience and teamwork while making it easy to connect with people from different backgrounds. -
