Lulu & Solomon - London, UK
We are Lulu and Solomon, a couple from London travelling long term and hoping to connect meaningfully with places and people along the way. We are friendly, adaptable and excited to get involved, whether that's outdoors, in the kitchen, or wherever we're most needed.
Solomon has worked as a gardener for over 10 years and is confident with a wide range of outdoor tasks including planting, weeding, pruning and harvesting. He is also very handy and happy to help with DIY, maintenance or fixing things around the property.
Lulu comes from a background in education and charity work and loves cooking and looking after people. She is always happy to help in the kitchen as well as outside, and brings skills in communications, content creation and community building that she's happy to put to use if useful.
We are also happy to help with admin, social media, childcare and general day to day support wherever needed.
We are vegetarian, easy to live with and respectful of shared spaces. We are comfortable living simply and genuinely grateful for any hospitality we receive.
Why we want to Workaway: Workaway feels like a meaningful way to travel, meeting new people, supporting local projects and experiencing different ways of life around the world. We are travelling long term and see it as a way to connect more deeply with the places we visit rather than just passing through. We are motivated by the chance to learn new skills, share what we can, and leave each place having contributed something positive.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Between us we bring a varied mix of practical, creative and interpersonal skills.
Solomon has over a decade of professional gardening experience and is comfortable with a wide range of tasks including planting, pruning, weeding, harvesting and caring for fruit trees. He has worked with many different types of plants and understands sustainable growing practices. He is also very skilled with exterior surfaces including stonework, and is a confident, capable DIYer who is happy to turn his hand to maintenance, repairs and general fixing.
Lulu has a background in education, communications and charity work. She has experience in content creation, social media, facilitation and community building, and has worked with young people, schools and social entrepreneurs in the UK. She is also an enthusiastic and experienced cook, particularly when it comes to vegetarian and vegan food, and has a background in hospitality.
Together we are hardworking, quick to learn and happy to take direction. We are comfortable with physical outdoor work, household tasks, childcare and admin, and will always look for ways to be useful beyond what is asked of us. We are respectful, tidy and easy to live and work alongside.

Autres infos...

We are active, creative and easy company. Solomon plays guitar, piano and sings, and we both love listening to music and would love to listen to your music. We are keen games players, and frequently host games nights at home. Lulu has a real passion for cooking from scratch, loves arts and crafts and has recently got into pottery. For fitness we enjoy badminton, hiking and swimming, and Solomon is a keen footballer. We love learning, watching films, good conversation and winding down together in the evenings.
