  Me and my now Ex-Partner bought this property together some years ago and she is now spending time in Italy and I am spending more time in Lisboa once a week for 2-4 days (depending on the week) in which I need somebody to look after Frida. Most of the time I will be home and will take care myself and work on the property.
  So I am looking for someone for dogsitting (paid) 2-4 days during the weeks in September, October, November and possibly longer over the winter when fitting well.
  
  This is not meant to be a standard Workaway offer, but rather an opportunity for someone to stay, relax, explore the area, work remotely, and do their own thing for a few weeks and/or months from September onward — in exchange for dog-sitting when I'm not at home.
  
  
  
  ME
  I am an handyman, bartender and other little things living in the middle of the forest with my sweet big dog Frida, who looks a bit like a polar bear. Usually I spend the winters in Switzerland working in gastronomy and snowboarding and during the the summer I work in a little cute beach cafe close from my home. The rest of the time I like to spend in garden eating the abundance of fruits and doing some little works here and there. Since me and my Ex-Partner seperated and we decided to sell the property I am not doing so much on the land anymore though.
  
  
  THE LAND AND HOUSING
  You would be housed in our old farmhouse which is a little rustic and has one bedroom and a office/livingroom. For the time I am not going to be on the property the person is also welcome to stay in the renovated little house. Even though our place is remote we have fiber internet so one can comfortably work from here.
  I live on 2 hectares of land with a lot of olive and fruit trees. This means that the land produces fruit all year round. There are so many olive trees that we press liters of our own olive oil every year.
  
  The land is in the middle of the forest, the nearest small villages are a 5-minute walk away. There are many river beaches in this area. Just down the hill is my favorite river beach, which is probably the nicest place in the area. There are regular concerts, techno parties and film evenings, as well as very good food and drinks, and it is open all summer until mid-end September.
  We are also very close to the Zezere River, which is a river that runs through fjords. The water is crystal clear and there are several beaches where you can swim.
  
  
  MOTIVATION
  We decided to live in the countryside because I was very tired of city life in Berlin, Germany, and had always dreamed of living somewhere in the countryside outside of Germany. I also had a lot of friends who already lived in the area.
  
  I have owned the land for almost three years. At the moment, the focus is on maintaing the two houses and restoring the plants and trees, as the land had been almost abandoned for forty years when we moved in here.

  Although we live in a very remote place, there is cultural activity going on. Just down the hill there is a river beach with a cultural bar and café, as I mentioned. There is also an art association nearby. There are exhibitions, concerts, film screenings and they even have a choir.
  
  In the city of Serta there are several activities and bars that you can go to. There is also a cinema.
  
  In the area there is a café or my friend. It hosts workshops, concerts and serves only vegetarian and vegan food.
  
  I am happy to show you my knowledge of harvesting, pruning and preserving the harvest. A particularly enjoyable experience is the olive harvest, followed by a visit to the olive press to see how olive oil is made.
  
  But I am also happy to learn if you know other, more or different things, since I used to be a city girl for most of the time of my life :)

  Note: I am a more left wing person who is politically very interested. I will not tolerate any sexist, antiqueer or racist behavior at my place.

  Aide

  For me is important to mention two things upfront:
  -Frida is a big dog and needs a secure self confident person leading her that she respects, so preferable you have some experience with dogs
  -on the days you will look after Frida alone I will pay you 10 EUR per day
  
  Frida is a three-year-old Transmontano Shepherd dog who loves people and cuddles. She wants a lot of attention and cuddles, but at the same time she is the best guard dog for this remote area. The nature/breed of Frida makes it that she is not a dog to take to the city and is most happy when on the property "guarding" and going for long walks. Her favorit thing is to hunt wild boars which I try to mitigate because it can be dangerous for her and I try to protect her from that with a good daily routine.
  
  The daily routine would look like following:
  -45min walk in the morning at around 8:00 AM
  -10min playtime before food
  
  -45min walk in the evening at around 18:00 PM
  -10min playtime before food
  
  -taking her to pee in front of the property at 23:00 PM
  
  Frida is sometimes incontinent and if she leakes in the house or did so during the night the blankets have to washed, dried and replaced.
  Either than that its just about cuddles, keeping her dry,clean and warm when she is in the house.

  Hébergement

  There will be room in the big house for work aways and a office/living room space to chill and work.
  The kitchen will be outside as long as the weather is good before moved inside.
  The bathroom is outside and is shared.
  
  Food:
  Food has to be bought and prepared yourself. I am happy to share meals togehter though it wont be the case for every meal.
  
  Car:
  I am currently fixing another car that could be used. Fuel is to be paid by yourself.

  Note: The property is in a fairly remote location. There is a public transport bus into town once in the morning and back in the evening. (I will pick you up at the bus station, of course.) Down to the river it is about a 25 minute walk.
  The nearest town is Sertã (15 minutes by car) where you can find everything from supermarkets to bars, a park and restaurants.

  Possibilité d’accueillir les digital nomads

  I am happy to host digital nomads for longer periods of time. There is at least one room in the house (maybe one more soon) that can be used for a longer stay. If you work as a digital nomad, we can even come to an agreement that you split your time between helping and your work, or if full time is not possible, we can talk about a very reduced rent. The internet is very fast, it is fiber optic. There is an office that you can use.

  Espace pour garer des vans

  You are welcome to come with campervan and park in front of the property. You will still be standing in the middle of nature and no other comes to pass by so you can make it comfortable for yourself.
