Hi everyone
My name is Finbar, Im from Ireland and currently on a career break from my job as a teacher.

I’m motivated by meaningful connection — whether that’s through teaching, travel, or simply sharing stories over a meal. I’ve always found joy in helping others learn and grow, but I also learn just as much from the people I meet.


What brings me happiness is being part of a community, contributing in small but genuine ways, and immersing myself in new cultures. I love to play my national sport (GAA) , read, and explore... especially when these things help me reflect and stay present. I’m drawn to experiences that are intentional, humble, and rooted in curiosity

I have spent the last two years give or take trying to learn Spanish on and off... I equate my learning of it like a snowball rolling down a mountain.. I gain a lot of momentum and find my skills improving and growing like the snowball would... only for it to get to the end of the mountain and crash abruplty to an end when my consistency falls. However I continue to climb back up the mountain and start again.. I am hoping that immersing myself in the langauage can help me to maintain consistency and gain a strong foundation of it. If I have a few drinks I would consider myself fluent in it..

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I’ve worked in a few different roles over the years — behind the bar, out in gardens as a landscaper, a furniture mover in vancouver Canada, and now in the classroom. Each one’s taught me something different: how to work hard, stay calm under pressure, and connect with people from all walks of life.

As a teacher, I’ve learned to be patient, adaptable, and always open to learning myself. I’m handy(ish), reliable, and happy to muck in wherever I’m needed.

I enjoy working with my hands, being outdoors, and getting involved in community life. I’m also keen to improve my Spanish and learn more about the culture while I travel
