Hello all!

My name is Esther Rüegg, I'm 21 years old and I'm from Denmark. I love meeting new people and exploring cultures different from where I come from. Besides that I also enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading and going for walks. In my sparetime, I sometimes play the saxophone, do some woodcarving, or maybe I'll even go for a run.

I graduated from the "gymnasium" (kind of a danish highschool) in the summer of 2019. Then I spent about half a year working in different places, and in feburary, three of my friends and I travelled to Cuba and afterwards Peru. Unfortunatelly, as many others, we were sent home because of the Corona pamdemic☹️ We where supposed to travel in Chile for three more months and do some Workaway. But eventhough it was way too short, it was an amazing expeirience, and I would love to go travelling again and ideally try out Workaway. When we returned to Denmark, I got an almost fultime job at my old primary school as a substitute teacher - and I really enjoyed getting to know the children and being a part of their everyday life. After working for about 3 months, I decited to go to a danish folkhighschool to meet some new people and explore some of my interests and hobbies. So I spent the fall of 2020 on a danish folkhighschool called Brandbjerg Højskole, where I had a lot of different subjects, such as outdoor, "gender, body and sexuality", ceramics, woodwork, music, and forest gardening - so nice! Most importantly, I met a lot of wonderful people.

Now it is 2021 and I was hoping to spend this spring travelling :-)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Since I graduated from the gymnasium, I have worked in very different places; I worked as a substitute at my old primary school, where I most of all took care of children in the age of 5-9 in the after-school recreation scheme. In the spring of 2020 I worked there fulltime - I taught everything from 1st to 9th grade in the morning according to where a teacher was missing, and every afternoon, I was part of this "freetime program" for the youngest children.

Secondly, I worked in a tiny grocery shop, where I mostly served costumers and cleaned. I also worked as a substitute at an institution for mentally handicapped people, where I help them making their everyday life work. Finally, I for several years worked at our lokal theater, where I did everything from updating their digital social media archive to hanging up posters to helping setting up performances.

I love working outdoor, and I have done a little gardening work (a lot of digging and planting:-)) especially at my stay in the folkhighschool, where we focused a lot on sustainable living and different ways of achieving that.

I am very open to almost any type of work!

I speak english, german and danish.
