Hi! I'm Erika, a 19-year-old recent graduate from Li Po Chun United World College in Hong Kong, where I completed the International Baccalaureate program.
I'm currently taking a gap year to work on my art portfolio and writing in preparation for university.

I’m passionate about traveling and have been fortunate to experience many different cultures by staying with host families around the world. These experiences have taught me flexibility, openness, and a deep appreciation for cultural exchange.

Over the years, I’ve worked a variety of jobs—including cleaning, dishwashing, private housework, babysitting, and for the past three years, working at a café. I enjoy staying active, learning new skills, and contributing wherever I can. I'm adaptable, responsible, and always eager to meet new people and learn from them.

I’m excited to continue exploring the world, building meaningful connections, and helping out however I can!

I’m also very interested in teaching English. I’ve previously volunteered at a school in Nepal, where I taught English to children, and I really enjoyed the experience. I would love to do more of that during my gap year. Having attended an international school, I’ve been exposed to a wide variety of cultures and languages. I have a strong grasp of English and enjoy helping others learn it. I’m also currently working on improving my German, and I’m always eager to pick up new languages—I learn them quickly and enjoy the process!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I’ve always enjoyed working hard and helping out in different environments. Since I was 12, I’ve taken on small cleaning jobs for neighbors and friends to earn some extra money. That early experience led me to work in an inn as a maid, then later as a dishwasher and waiter.
For the past five years, I’ve worked in a café, where I’ve developed strong customer service skills and loved meeting people from around the world—especially tourists.
I also have extensive experience babysitting children aged 3 to 13, and feel very comfortable looking after kids of different ages.
I grew up around horses and currently live on a farm, so I’m very familiar with farm life. I can help with gardening, general maintenance, and hands-on, practical tasks.
In addition to this, I’m a passionate artist working on building my portfolio for university. I’m creative, detail-oriented, and always open to new learning opportunities. I pick up skills quickly and love engaging with people from different backgrounds.

Outside of work, I’m very passionate about art and writing—they’re a big part of how I express myself, and I hope to pursue them professionally in the future.
I come from a big family with many siblings, so I’ve spent a lot of time caring for children and playing all kinds of games with them. I’ve also taught dance and yoga classes for kids, and I really enjoy connecting with young people through movement and creativity.
I’ve been a Scout for many years, so I feel very comfortable in nature and am always up for outdoor activities or hands-on tasks. In addition, I’ve been a committed climate activist for most of my life and care deeply about environmental issues, sustainability, and eco-farming practices.
I also love to read, and I’m happy to help with homework, tutoring, or language support, especially in English. I did well in school and enjoy supporting others in their learning.
In general, I’m very easygoing and adaptable—whether you need someone energetic and chatty, or someone calm and behind-the-scenes, I’m happy to fit in where I’m most useful.
