Description

My name is Elliot. I'm a musician, online English tutor, occasional proofreader, and (formerly) a chef. I don't come from anywhere remarkable, or particularly open-minded, so it has really been music that has led me to new experiences and a wider awareness of the world.

Workaway feels something of a gift as I want to be an active participant somewhere I can contribute, learn and make new connections with people. Tourism certainly has its place, but I’m looking for something that offers a chance to learn, to connect, and to give back with whatever I've learned in life.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have years of experience in preparing and cooking food in a professional setting and at home. If you would like help with meals (and cleaning up!) I'm very very happy to do this, and of course to share any recipes with you too.

I have some ‘hard’ landscaping experience doing work in my folk’s garden during hot Summer months (to build a patio, raised flower beds, weeding, re-planting, using cultivator and mattock to make the earth ready for planting or removing). In colder months I helped with painting and decorating.
I also have a little experience in unskilled labour (or 'heavy lifting from one place to another'). I take regular exercise 5 - 6 times a week for at least an hour, so I’m in good shape for anything physical you might want!

Tutoring and teaching English (TEFL qualified, currently working as online English tutor)
- I would love to help you in any way with the English language if you like, whether this is an exchange, reading, writing, vocabulary and speaking skills, editing or reviewing any documents or messages in English (written and received). I don't mind if it is casual, or to help with your working life - it would be my pleasure.

Music - if you would like to learn, practice, play an instrument or even learn some basic recording - I’d be very happy to do this. I understand this isn’t so vital to a working environment, but in any out-of-work hours I can definitely offer to anyone interested. I play a number of instruments to some proficiency, so I’d be glad to watch you progress past me in a matter of minutes!
