Hello from Canada!
I'm new here, but I'm looking to travel farther than I have before, all the while meeting amazing people: that's what draws me to Workaway!
I'm from Vancouver, and I've spent time living Halifax and Haida Gwaii. I've travelled around Canada quite a bit and would love to trade travel stories. In my time travelling, I've taken up various hobbies and odd jobs such as bike maintenance trainee, houseboat dweller, and gardener. Experiences like these have frequently become the most memorable parts of my trips! I'm excited to join the Workaway community and learn from all of you.
I love being outside, working in nature, and particularly love getting to know the local flora of a place. I'm also always in search of new music, and some of my happiest memories are from evenings at small, cozy concerts or singing with a group around a fire. I am learning several instruments and always love to jam, or learn more about local music.
I studied philosophy and sustainability in university. Now that I'm done my degree, I have much more time to read for fun! Please tell me about your favourite book, or let's chat big ideas!

Currently I am hoping to improve my Spanish! Learning from a book is simply not the same as learning through conversation. I also can speak French, but I'm a little rusty, so any practice is appreciated. I am super happy to help out with English!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I've helped out in various gardens! I'm always learning more, but set me to work in a garden and I will be having the time of my life.
Other outdoors/property maintenance work is welcome: clearing land, moving wood, small fixes... In particular, I've done a fair bit of housepainting.
I love to cook! I've volunteered quite a bit in community kitchens, cooking for large groups. Also, my favourite job I've ever held was as a kitchen assistant in a super cool off-the-grid restaurant (I'll tell you all about it!). Learning new recipes and trying new cuisines is a highlight of my life.
I've also worked a fair bit with kids, and would be happy to help out with childcare. Pets, too - I love animals.

I'm slowly, slowly learning the bass! I've now also taken up the accordion. Anyone want to jam? :)
I love various creative hobbies and have done quite a few over the years, such as photography, crochet, embroidery, and collage. The "creative" hobby I do the most these days is mending my clothes (such as darning, patching, etc), and I'd be happy to teach what I know (and always open to learn more)
I really enjoy biking, and am working on improving my bike maintenance skills.
I also practice Shotokan Karate (when I can). An exercise buddy is very welcome!
