Description

My name is Elena. I was born in a little village in France, lived and went to school in Germany and finally graduated from an Art Gymnasium in Switzerland. Straight after that I travelled through Australia and Indonesia, worked on farms, in Cafés, visited festivals and explored nature and alternative ways of living in the foreign. I am very eager on learning new things that have to do with self-sustainability as I don't see myself in the future living a pure consumer life. After and in between travels I studied postindustrial design, where I set my main focus on urban spaces and garden design but also on innovation projects .

Through these studies I discovered my passion for designing with plants which is why I signed up for new studies in landscape architecture. My dream is to create outdoor spaces that are not just for us humans - but for all living beings and have therefore a connecting function. For that I created my own company in 2024, where I engange in different projects like dry stone wall building, permaculture gardening, evironmental education, biodiversity projects, art projects but also designing urban outdoor spaces.

Currently I moved with my partner into the swiss mountains, where we started permaculture projects in a smaller scales. We are planning to have animals in the future and revive the tiny village that has died out twice in the past century. As the winters there are very long (6-7months...) I decided to do workaway during the wintertime to get more sun, endeepen my knowledge of permacultural practices and connect with inspiring people!

I am interested in all sorts of innovative and sustainable projects such as gardening, permaculture, construction, designing houses and other things out of recycled materials!

SKILLS:
- Gardening (vegetable gardening, wide theoretical knowledge of perennials)
- dry stone wall building
- I can work with machines: brush cutter (with blades), main knowledge with chainsaw, bar mower, scythe, …
- botany and phytotherapy
- guided tours about botany / nature topics in Switzerland
- languages: native in german/french/swiss, main dutch, main italian
- designing (concepts/illustrations/drawings/urban spaces & gardens)
- basic hatha yoga teacher training
