Description

After working for 105 days as a volunteer English teacher on Peace Boat, I want to continue traveling around the world doing volunteer work.
Except for being a qualified English teacher who mostly taught to adult refugees and migrants in Australia, I used to buy, renovate and sell houses as well as create (organic) vegetable gardens.
In my 20's, I learned French in France and Spanish in Spain. I studied at university in the Netherlands, since my father is Dutch, and speak therefore Dutch and German.
When my son and daughter were young , I first managed a backpacker's hostel in Darwin and later had a family daycare at home to be able to work around or with my children. In the daycare facility, I looked after babies and toddlers between 8 months and 4 years old.
I enjoy physical work and have picked fruit and done farm work in different parts of the world. I also love skiing and sailing and have been an instructor for both.
However, what I like most is exploring different cultures in a way that is helpful and has depth. I am open to all experiences and appreciate good conversations, learning about different life styles and being part of projects.

I consider myself a lifelong learner and am always ready for anything new you can teach me. On the other hand, I might be helpful with knowledge and skills that you can use. I love long lunches/dinners with good conversations and exotic/exciting foods and am happy to help in the kitchen to prepare them.

Although this workaway could be challenging for some, since the rowing boat that needs to be used to get to the actual boat is quite heavy, this is a great experience for those who love being on the water, want to live on a boat and work with boats.

I had a wonderful 4 weeks with Yuru and the girls. The children are often very entertaining and Yuru made sure that we went to places that otherwise I never would have visited.
