Interested in contributing and helping with projects on a rural farm stay.
Description
We, Brian and Elizabeth are from Canada, have a love for and lived a rich simple living and are looking to contribute to a farm stay work project as part of their trip to Uruguay 2nd half of February to early March. Last year's adventure we beach camped and kayaked in Baja. Happiness is being outdoors working or playing hard. Brian is a carpenter by trade with experience horse logging and beekeeping. In addition to a long list of building projects Brian has worked at Windhorse Farm and Sustainable Forest in Nova Scotia, and is currently building a retreat cabin while serving as handy man at Summer Soul Farm on Hornby Island. He loves sea kayaking, biking, hiking, gardening. Brings a calm kindness and plenty of strength and stamina!
Elizabeth loves contributing to community building efforts focused on ecological and social well being. (climate action, coastal seaweed). Adventures have included managing coastal economic development loan funds, work with a federation of Chilean seaweed cooperatives and the last 15 years as founder of Climate Smart- a unique blend of training, software, and certification to assist small and medium-sized businesses in reducing their greenhouse gas emissions. Now shifting from a focus on climate mitigation to nature-based solutions returning to better understand, be around and promote seaweed and it's role in climate resilience, ocean health, food security, coastal community wonder and well-being! As volunteer at the Hornby Island Natural History Centre Elizabeth enjoys being part of multi generational team projects, gardening, time with horses, learning, reading, meditation, yoga, swimming, biking, hiking, sea kayaking, poetry and singing in a choir.

Brian is a carpenter by trade with a career as a handy man, builder, skilled with a chain saw and experience horse logging experience. Elizabeth is a social enterprenuer with experience starting projects, organizations and a company. Quick learner and team player to tackle tasks.
