Hey! I’m a laid-back and friendly traveler from the U.S. who recently left my job as a firefighter to spend a year traveling through South America. I’ve always loved the energy, warmth, and culture of this part of the world, and I wanted to take the chance to explore it more deeply—beyond just the tourist trail.

I’d say I’m an easygoing and social person who enjoys getting to know people and hearing their stories. I’m definitely adventurous and always down to try something new—whether it’s a local dish, a hike, or helping out with a hands-on project. My friends would describe me as someone who’s chill, friendly, and up for anything, but also a good listener who’s genuinely curious about people and cultures.

Some of my favorite things to do are rock climbing, snowboarding, working out, and just being outside in general. I’ve traveled solo to over 10 countries and usually stay in hostels because I love meeting new people—but this time around, I really want to connect more with locals, learn Spanish, and get a better feel for the day-to-day life in the places I visit.

This will be my first time using Workaway, but I’m excited to contribute however I can—whether that’s helping out with a project, teaching English, doing physical work, or just being part of a community. I’m open-minded, reliable, and excited to learn. Looking forward to meeting you and learning more about your part of the world!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I’ve done a bit of everything and I’m always willing to jump in and learn something new. Most recently, I worked as a firefighter, which taught me how to stay calm under pressure, work well on a team, and handle physically demanding tasks. I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty, and I take pride in being reliable and showing up with a good attitude.

Before that, I worked at a brewery serving beer and at the front desk of a gym, so I’m comfortable talking to people, helping out with customer service, and keeping things clean and organized. I’ve also done a lot of physical training over the years and enjoy outdoor or active work. I don’t have a ton of technical skills yet, but I’m a fast learner, and I’m genuinely excited to help however I can — whether that’s in the garden, with construction, cleaning, cooking, hosting guests, or just lending a hand wherever needed.

In my free time, I’m into fishing, playing card games, and a bit of chess. I’m always down for a casual game or to teach someone how to play. I also love spending time outdoors and just enjoying whatever the local vibe is — whether that’s hiking, hanging out, or joining in on something new. I’m always open to trying different hobbies and learning from the people around me.
