Description

Mauri! (Hello! in Kiribati aka Gilbertese) My name is Nikki and I've always been curious about other cultures, traditions, languages, & food. I love meeting new and different people and it amazes me how similar, yet different we humans can be.

I'm originally from Fiji, but ethnically I’m Kiribati (pronounced Kee ree bass). Fun fact about Kiribati: it's the only country in the world that’s in all 4 hemispheres! If you like learning about rare indigenous cultures, I can teach you about mine :)

I was fortunate enough to grow up in a family that values travel & appreciates different cultures, so I've lived all over Fiji & the US, and I've had the pleasure of living in the beautiful country of Georgia for 3 years collectively. I have traveled to 14 countries & counting. I can't wait to visit more!

As far as work history goes, I've done a little bit of everything, from working in the food industry to working on multi-million dollar jets & everything in between; like voice acting for a computer game (that was fun!). I'm in the process of online entrepreneurship, so I can be location independent, which will allow me the perfect opportunity to follow my passion for travel & cultural curiosity.

I can offer skills in the following areas:

-Cooking, baking, juicing, barista (espresso, lattes, etc)
-Novice bartending skills
-General housework & yard work
-Painting walls, fences, furniture, etc.
-Animal care: mostly with dogs & cats, some care for turtles, birds, and a pig
-Excellent customer service skills from years of experience in the restaurant industry & call centers
-Great with kids, as I've helped raise my younger brothers & cousins, along with babysitting countless neighborhood children
-I also have tons of experience volunteering with kids through church and school organizations
-Teaching English: I am TEFL certified and I've spent a couple of summers volunteering with summer school programs for primary school-aged kids
-Novice photographer & videographer
-Novice carpentry: most of my carpentry experience is from set construction for theatre from high school and uni

Some random tidbits about me: I love to bake and banana bread is my specialty. My favorite part of flying is the turbulence. I love to sing obnoxiously loud, but out of respect for anyone who isn't my family, I refrain from doing so...
