Hey ! ☀️
I’m Jeanne, a 26-year-old who loves travelling through Europe to discover different cultures and ways of living in harmony with nature 🌿

I’ve been living in Lyon, in France, for 2 years now, and work there on the environmental value of buildings, after travelling by volunteering for a (much needed) year when I finished my studies. It’s been amazing, I’m so grateful for it, and the memories I’ve made will stick with me forever ! I’ve deeply loved living in the heart of nature, learning how to live, and how to build differently, and I now take any opportunity I can to participate in cool projects, get my hands dirty and have fun with crazy and free people ! 🪁🤗
Now as I work (sadly) I have limited time to do so, but this year I’ve tried to dedicate a few weeks to travelling, and I will try to reach Albania or the South of Italy to discover what’s up there, and to come and learn new things, care for the nature and share what I know and my energy, and most of all, share good laughs and stories around an occasional glass of wine/beer/delicious fruit juice !

Other than that, I’m found of making stuff with my hands, whether it is cooking for a shared meal, DIYing, sewing my own clothes, woodworking (that I learned while volunteering). I’m into sports, like hiking, climbing, French boxing, and would love to learn more on yoga and anything on circus arts !

I’ve been volunteering for a little while now, and living with 4 amazing roommates have taught me how to live in a community, set my boundaries and respect others’.

In short, I am curious about everything, would love having fun making things and don’t mind hard work or getting my hands dirty ! 🤸‍♀️

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have participated in some wood working projects at school so I have some basic knowledge on it. In my last Workaway I learned so much, such as mounting up walls with a hemp-lime mixture, clay plastering walls, and some all over knowledge on clay and why/how/when it can be used.
Traveling in Eastern Europe in the Autumn/Winter and staying in Workaways which offered basic/rustic accomodations in a very rough weather or area has taught me that I can handle quite a lot and be pretty tough when needed 😅
I have also worked every summer I could in the fields and the kitchen of a liquorist back in my hometown, and thus can handle physical work.
I also know about cooking (which has been useful in my previous Workaways), sewing and other things I would love to share ! Housework doesn’t scare me, and I am able to live quite independently (event though I love sharing my time with people !)
I don’t have trouble with speaking English, I speak a (tiny) bit of Spanish and am about to try and learn German (I have learned a few words in my previous Workaway, but clearly not enough to be able to really understand nor speak it unfortunately, so it could be one of my objectives if you speak it ! Right now I only have a limited list of words/ expressions I know, including “Genau”, “Ich spreche kein Deutsch”, “Ich habe mich verlaufen”, “Gut gemacht”, “Schwarwälder Kirschtorte” which is nice but… limited !)
I do have a driver’s license, if needed.
