Hay there , my names Clare , I’m currently in the UK working as a Nurse.
Before I trained, I spent the best part of a decade from my late teens to late 20’s travelling , living and working abroad .

I love learning and experiencing different traditions and customs and I find the best way to connect to the local culture and community is to involve yourself with the local people and working or volunteering is a great way to do that :

..Plus, although I have a wandering soul and love spending time out listening to the birds.
I'm also a ' doer' and like to feel like I have a purpose to my travel and even better still ,to feel like I might have been of help (if even only in some small way )

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I’ve done a wide variety of jobs throughout my life .
Whilst travelling and living abroad in my 20’s I’ve cleaned hostels and helped run them. Worked in kitchens and as a waitress ... in bars , cafés .. campsites and Hotels .
Lived and worked in China as an English language teacher for 4 1/2 years.
Although a while ago now, I taught a variety of different students, from kindergarten - to state schools , business private schools , 1:1 tuition and classes of over 50 .

I've also volunteered in my home city in the social health field with homeless youth , doing creative projects with people with differing learning disabilities as well as mentoring young women in the care system .

I've been on a couple of Workaway's now . One just before the pandemic hit and then had to return. This was in Myanmar , doing general personal care as well as wound care for people in make shift hospitals :
Although I found this challenging in some areas , It was an enriching experience and was the catalyst for change as on return I went in to a different field of nursing.
The second was more recently to Casablanca , Morocco to teach English . This reminded me of how much more I get out of the experience of volunteering rather than just traveling through.
I'm someone who's more than happy to get stuck in and help out with whatever needs doing and am always open to learning new things .I have a creative streak in me , I'm friendly , caring and not afraid of a little elbow grease.
