Hi! I’m Emma — a 28-year-old chef from the U.S. with a deep love for food, people, and the kind of growth that comes from stepping outside your comfort zone.
I’ve cooked my way through several states across the U.S., working in restaurants, managing kitchens, and teaching others along the way. But for me, cooking has never been just about technique — it’s a language of connection, creativity, and healing. I’m passionate about using food not only to nourish, but to support people emotionally and holistically — whether that’s through shared meals, mentoring, or simply showing up with care in someone’s kitchen.
In 2021, I did my first two Workaways in France: one in a restaurant and the other aboard a home/yacht hybrid — both of which deepened my love for cultural exchange and working in unique environments.
Traveling solo has become one of the most powerful ways I reconnect with myself and experience the world with curiosity and openness. I’m always looking for opportunities to learn, contribute, and grow — whether that means helping in a kitchen, organizing a pantry, collaborating on a creative project, or just trading stories over coffee.Centres d’intérêt

Outside of cooking, I love working with my hands — whether that means fixing things, building something from scratch, or figuring out creative solutions in the moment. I’m mechanically inclined and tend to jump in where needed, especially in DIY projects or settings that require quick thinking and resourcefulness.
I also thrive in roles that require emotional awareness. I’m deeply in tune with others, a strong communicator, and naturally create a sense of safety in shared spaces. Whether I’m leading a team or supporting someone one-on-one, I value showing up with presence and care.
Additional skills:
• Event planning and hosting (especially themed dinners or group activities with limited resources)
• Creative thinking around low-cost entertainment or community events
• Hair cutting, coloring, and styling (informal but experienced)
• Strong writing and editing skills, including formatting and organization

Outside of solo traveling and cooking, I’m happiest anywhere near the water — whether I’m scuba diving, paddle boarding, or just floating and soaking it all in. I also love writing, connecting with people on a real, honest level, and finding meaning in the little shared moments.
