Hello fellow hosts and workawayers,
I have spent the last two months travelling Nepal and China, and have now arrived in Japan where I will be living for the next six-twelve months on a working/holiday visa.
I am new to Workaway but am very excited to become a part of the workaway community and hope to gain new travel and cultural experiences. I like to immerse myself in both the city and the countryside, finding beauty in both the busy bustling of city life and the more relaxed nature of rural living.

I come from a rural town in the far north coast of New South Wales, Australia, where I very much enjoy going for walks amongst the beautiful rainforest zones abundant around the area. I love to adventure, go for hikes, and explore water holes and the beach.
I spend my quiet time reading, drawing and dabbling in some writing, as well as enjoying the company of my lovely, little rabbit Juniper.

I have spent much of my time committing myself to working in and around my hometown where I began to feel somewhat isolated. The travel plans having been thoughts in my mind for well over 2yrs before they finally came to fruition. And now here I am, ready to experience a whole new culture in a new country.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

My skills and work experience include retail, disability support, cleaning, bush regeneration, garden planting, working in a health food wellness cafe/grocery.

I have spent ten years working in retail where I have gained communication skills, working as a team member, opening and closing a shop alongside coworkers or solo, stocktake experience, handling and resolving customer inquiries. I also handled the preparation and selling of yum cha - dumplings, sweet and savoury buns, etc.
I worked for three years as a cleaner, helping me to learn valuable organisational skills, working to a strict timeframe and being trusted with working in homes while the tenants are at work or fulfilling other life duties.
The last five years I have spent working two to three jobs and incorporating 3yrs of study into my routine. I am very committed to my work and try my best to always work to a high standard.
I have worked as a bush regenerator for those five years, a manual labour job that involves planting trees, restoring native rainforests via the removal of invasive species and planting large scale garden designs. This job has enabled me to be immersed in nature year round, a place I very much like to be.
I worked in Disability Support for just shy of two years, I found this job very fulfilling as I was able to offer my support services in various ways to many people of varying ages.

My education includes the completion of year 12, the completion of a Certificate II in Horticulture, Certificate III in Natural Area Restoration, a Diploma of Film, and a Diploma of Health Science (Naturopathy).

I am also bilingual, speaking English and Spanish. My English is my dominant language and speak Spanish mostly with my family. I would be more than happy to teach English, and would give Spanish teaching a go yet I am not as confident in my Spanish teaching capabilities.

I like to devote some of my time to drawing and charcoal, and sewing.

I also have 5yrs experience house-sitting, dog-sitting, cat-sitting and looking after chickens. I love all animals !

I am always open to learning new things, expanding my skill set and meeting new people from across the globe.
I would love to expand my cooking skills and try new foods !
