Dear Hosts and fellow travellers!
I’m Caroline from the city of Eberswalde (a bit east of Berlin) in Germany. I decided to sign up on workaway because I think traveling is even more worthwhile when meeting locals and getting to know their everyday life.
I’m an animal lover and I’m interested in nature conservation which is why after graduating from high school, I spent a year volunteering with different organizations involved in nature conservation in South America and afterwards studied Wildlife Management in the Netherlands.

During my studies, I completed two internships working in rehabilitation projects for endangered species and helping with ecological research projects in the field in Ecuador and the Philippines. Therefore, I have some knowledge about animal care and ecology and I love being outside in nature and going on hikes.

Currently, I'm in Germany completing my master's degree in Biosphere Reserves Management, which focuses nature protection and sustainable development, so I’m interested in getting to know different ways of living more sustainably.

Since I grew up in a rural area in Germany in a house with a big garden, I have some gardening skills, but would love to improve them. I also worked in a small, organic café in Berlin for a year, where my main task was baking cakes, which I really enjoyed and which is why I have some cooking and baking skills.

Apart from the skills I already have, I'm always happy to learn new skills while volunteering because I think it's important to step out of one's comfort zone.
Currently I'm not on a big trip, but I enjoy doing smaller trips within Europe every now and then.
