Hello All!
I'm Carolina, I'm an avid and curious traveller currently looking to squeeze as much adventure and travel as possible before the start of september. I'm currently a line-chef in Manchester, but have wanted to take a good few months off to travel. Originally I'm from Mexico, with family in Brazil too, but live in the UK, so I'm definitely the product an unusual array of cultures.

I love history and art and reading, so I'd love to explore cultural landmarks of wherever it is I'm going. I also have a passion for gardening, which waxes and wanes with the seasons, (I'm of hardy stock so although I do abandon my own garden come winter, if the opportunity arises I am more than happy to work, trowel in hand, in the colder months).


I also love languages, so logically the idea of getting to be immersed in different languages is a beautiful prospect to me. I speak Spanish and English, understand some Portuguese, am currently trying to improve my french ( would love to be able to read a full novel in French unaided by google translate by the end of the 2025!), and decided last year to dip my toes into Russian, ( this last one i am under no allusion that mastery or fluency is out of grasp for me but enjoy learning it nonetheless). I look forward to getting to be surrounded by many more beautiful languages in the coming months!

Would love to do some language exchange, as fluent in both English and Spanish, have some french in my back pocket and have recently being doing courses at the Alliance Francaise centre to keep me accountable in studying it. ( so can understand french but not if spoken at the usual parisian speeds). I've worked in delivering debating lessons to entire classrooms so would say I've picked up some good skills in the arts of teaching. I earnestly mean it when I say I love languages, so any language exchange, however small, would be a dream come true :)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

- Line-Chef, and have done some work in hospitality as bar staff. ( Do not claim to be a masterful chef but can cook a mean shakshuka and am proficient in banana-bread baking.) Hospitality wise, I've also worked with event-planning companies for the setting up of weddings or large parties, I'd say I'm a fast learner and a hard worker.

-Love gardening and would love to expand my knowledge on all things botanical. Always having been a very crafty person and rather thrifty, I dabble in the arts of DIY. I spend last summer trying to make a sort of natural roman-cement to build a flower bed in my garden with an abandoned pile of bricks I'd found, so would love to partake in any projects that involve using your hands !

-Have worked as a tutor in Debating Clubs around the country with a company called DebateMate, running debating sessions with kids in both primary and secondary school. It was one of the best job experiences I've had as the work is dynamic and working with the kids is always a guarantee of fun.
